Found some old pictures I thought I had lost of a Baker Elite single barrel trap gun. It's sitting in the back of my safe until 2019,
when I hopefully can take it to the trap range to celebrate its 100th Birthday. The Baker Elite is the one on the top with the beefier forearm:

Take a look from medium distance at the extensive checkering and the engraved receiver. Both by Rudolph Kornbrath:

I know it was engraved and checkered by Rudolph Kornbrath
because my Baker's sibling is at the Cody:

I corresponded with the Cody and they said that their Baker Elite is in a case of "Embellished Guns" with a card saying it was engraved and checkered by Rudolph Kornbrath. Mr. Kornbrath was a master engraver in Hartford, Connecticut who did contract work for many of the finest gun manufacturers during the years 1910-1937.Rudolph Kornbrath

The Baker "Elite" was not Baker's top of the line.
That honor went to the Baker "Superba"

You are blessed with owning the work of what I believe is one of the finest engravers we're ever been fortunate enough to have in Our Country. I have admired his craftsmanship for many years but I've never been in the position to buy a piece engraved by him. Enjoy it's workout on the trap field when the time comes!

The Baker Elite in the OP is not in Kornbrath's signature heavy relief style.

One of my trap team members shoots a Ithaca 4E, with medium engraving. He bought the gun from his fathers shooting partner when he was over 90 and gave my friend 1st option to buy. Beautiful gun, still locks up like a bank vault.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe that gun. And look at the size of that forearm!

An incredible example of the gunmaker and engraver's art. How fortunate you are to actually be able to handle it, and hopefully shoot, such a wonderful gun.

Having resurrected the old photos, I went and got a copy of the book that has the picture of my Baker Elite's twin:

When I eventually go to sell the Baker I plan to include a copy of the book.
(NOTE, the Baker is not for sale)
