What is your most aesthetically pleasing revolver?

My USFA 45 Colt Light weight conversion by Hamilton Bowen.

You know guys, call me a pretentious idiot, but I think the most aesthetically pleasing revolvers are the old, beat up J-frames and service revolvers with tons of holster wear, dryed out and dinged grips, maybe a little paint on the front sight, of course chipped and worn... I'm serious. Guns that have "been there, done that" and that have the scars to prove it.

You know a person can save up money and get a really fancy and shiny revolver... but it takes a lifetime of honest wear and tear, dependable and faithful service, to have a gun like I mentioned.

That, my friends, is something truly beautiful.

That is an amazingly difficult thing to decide.

I have many that are exceptionally pleasing to look at. I could never narrow it down to a single piece. Fortunately we live in America where I do not have to worry about that kind of progressive thinking.

Here are some of my most visually appealing revolvers.

I think the factory did a great job on this model 40

This is one of 25 Model 649s that was pulled from the production line on the first day of production to be embellished with A+ engraving and Ivory. This revolver is currently my Avatar

This is one of the 50 Deluxe Texas Ranger Commemoratives produced in 1973

I was lucky enough to stumble on one of the 5 Master+ engraved Model 45s that were part of the Smith and Wesson Museum collection. I wish the factory had done something better about the grips. Other than that I think the piece is spectacular.

There are also several overall packages that I think are very pleasing.

This Colt Snake Eyes set sits on my office wall and gets lots of conversation

The Deluxe Texas Sesquicentennial commemerative revolver is in one of the built in book cases. Most people call these the Texas Wagon Train.

The prettiest vintage S&W I have is my M19-3 snubbie. It's not only my favorite K frame/barrel length, but it's in beautiful shape.

But this recent manufacture 629 Deluxe is a modern classic that is just perfect in its proportions.

A 3” m65 for double action
Or a freedom arms sa ....just cause I know it’ll make a single hole at 25 yds.

But you will never go wrong with a 6.5” m29 either, if you’re thinking about a target gun in double action.

I sold it. It was a 4" Python. I have 8" Python, not as pleasing to look at for me. There is a shiny one up above. I like the blue.

USFA folded. So It's the price they are willing to sell it and you are in a dispostion to pay.

Well now the same folks make a .22 caliber "zip gun" made from plastic. Not nearly as aesthetically pleasing!

It figures. SO my "luck" still holds true then? And just when I thought it was safe to go back into the water?

The water is fine Carl. Can't you see the "dolphin" smiling at you? :D

Now, You you may get lucky buying a USFA. Sometimes the stars align and you may get a bargain.

I won my SAA in a German auction site (Egun) for under 1 grand. I was the only bidder.

Edit. Watch like a hawk just after Christmas when everybody is broke.
