In this country (Switzerland) you need licenses to purchase firearms. You can put up to 3 weapons on a license provided they come from the same seller on the same day. Cost of license is $50.

I was negotiating a 2 guns purchase with a private seller, a 1987 Steyr AUG A1 in great condition and a Gen 2 Glock 20 (love the 10 mm auto and have to spare my Delta Elite somewhat).

So I spotted this little thing in his listing. Why waste a line on the licence ? Agreed on $ 400.

It is a very nice little piece, well-made and nicely finished. I just need to find nicer grips for it.

Very nice. I have it's stainless cousin. Very pleasant to shoot, with good looks to boot! Congrats on your decision.

While they've now been surpassed for carry purposes by 9x19 guns the same size or smaller (such as the SIG-Sauer P938 and Kimber Micro9) that have better sights and safeties, I've always felt those locked-breech Government .380s with the firing-pin safeties were darned nifty guns. Thank you for all the photos of your great purchase!

I have one in stainless and they are great little guns. The locked breech design makes the recoil much lighter than on blowback .380s. You did extremely well on that price. Around here they usually sell in the $700 range.
I believe the .380 is a highly under rated cartridge. With modern ammo, I think it makes an excellent self defense round.
I actually prefer the slightly smaller Mustang for carry. I have a Mustang XSP that I often carry during my daily exercise walks. With the poly frame and stainless upper, its about as sweat proof as a gun can get. ;)

Thanks guys. I took it to the range, it’s a very nice little shooter. There is a bit more recoil than my other .380, which is a heavier and bigger antique Beretta 34.
