I've admired the engineering and design of the Lasermax for over 20 years but the early ones were finicky. I think the Lasermax was the epitome of "cool" but some serious cons vs fewer pros.
Lasermax advertises battery life is 1 hour (ONLY 1 hour). Videos to show how to replace the batteries, but NO where does it indicate the price of these (likely) proprietary batteries that have to be replaced after 1 hour ... likely less.
And, the laser flashes ... you cannot get a steady beam laser unless you get an older model.
AND the laser flashes ... then the LaxerMax sight is out of stock on most of these guide rod lasers. If they are out of stock, why ?
I also like the Crimson trace grips. I have one pair on a 60-1 and they're fantastic.
My son has an older LaserMax on a used P226 he purchased awhile back so it's an earlier version. It is finicky. When you caress it, just right, it's on ... then it's off, then it's on again.
What is the NEWEST Generation LaserMax for Sig 229 / 226 / 220 models and comments on the pros / cons, reliability.
I see used, like new, to NEW from a reliable dealer, in fact it is my Camera Dealer in NYC that I have purchased my Nikons from for the past 35 years, has it in stock for $279 for model #LMS2291
Being they are reliable and will take a return with no hassle from me, I wouldn't look to save a few bucks buying from an unknown and never from a nobody seller on ebay.
For practicality, perhaps just the Crimson Trace (with lifetime free battery replacement).
Advice, please. ?
