Default Not a bad knife or price

I just recieved a Boker fixed blade Arbolito. 3.5” blade, 7.5” OA.
Made in their Argentine plant with Argentine stag handles.
Very well made 440c that was more than sharp out of the box.
A nice leather sheath comes with it.
Just under $40 ( by a Penny).
Offered by Midway
I like it enough that I just ordered 3 more for gifts.
Too late for Xmas, but what kinda reason do I really need?

One nice additional feature is that the knife locks into to sheath via the finger guard.
It’s not a large knife but it’s well made light and easy to carry.
Added a pic next to a 4” 19 for scale ( and viewing pleasure)

I picked up its little brother a while ago... It is a little skinner. Very nicely made.

I agree, a good carbon steel blade would make it better but it is what it is.

Looks like a great knife for $40 and the stainless blade would be a plus
for me.

Yeah,
Böker offer(ed)s some nice knives:

1. Böker "Fitz", 440 C
2. " Backside with other small knives

3. Böker "Integral"
4. " ...one piece of 440 C steel (with MUELA sheath)

5. Böker Cera-Titan Folder
...only +/ 70 Gramm (on my kitchen-scale)
OK, a good steel blade is a bit more robust for harder work...

I plan on carrying this one in the field. It’s too light and handy not to.

I got the same deal from Midway before Christmas and was lost at USPS . Midway sent a replacement and first one showed up a month later. The lost knife had better looking handle and blade so returned the replacement

Midway has the steel listed as 440A. Does the blade or any of the package materials indicate the blade steel is 440C? I have a Puma with 440A and it is perfectly fine, but 440C is better in my humble opinion.

I understand that there are a couple of versions. This one and one like it but with thumb serrations on top, which is more$, and the one you mention with different steel.
What I got was the “ economy” version and that’s what I wanted.
Not afraid to use it or, gulp, lose it.
I just checked receipt and you are correct 440A

There is nothing wrong with 440A, my 25 year old Puma folder is made out of it. I believe 440A is the stainless Randall Made Knives uses. 440C has a higher carbon content. I could not sharpen either until I got ceramic and diamond sharpeners. I'm tempted to order one. If it was 440C my order would be in right now, but I seek out every reason I can not to buy more knives.

The only thing I will do since I have it is polish the edges off of the finger guard. A little sharp there

Randalls website lists 01 carbon tool steel or a “special high carbon ( 1.00%) stainless” but that’s about all the info they provide.

I’ve got an Argentine Boker and it’s quite serviceable.
