I have a 7.5-inch barreled Redhawk (not the Super) in .44 Magnum. I believe that the Redhawk and Super Redhawk have slightly different internals.
What I can tell you about the trigger in mine is that it makes me laugh -- like many/most of us active in these forums, the
Smith & Wesson double action feel is what I love, need, and must have in my life in a double action revolver. Nothing else is at the same level for me when it comes to the predictable feel of a double action trigger stroke. And with this '85 Redhawk, I must say that Ruger did a fairly decent job with it. It is no S&W of course, it's very "springy" but it is smooth and I can shoot well in double action with it.
Where the laughs come in is with the
single action trigger break and feel. It's really quite horrendous!

The part that, to me, seems as though it would have been easier to get "right" is sooooo wrong.
The single action break has so much creep that you can almost name your favorite waypoints on the journey. I find this to be funny and as one of my past times with this revolver is shooting from a rest at steel hanging 100-300 yards away... I
much prefer to take those slow, rested and careful shots in double action, simply because it's a
better trigger pull.
It's a good revolver, worth every penny of the $500 I paid for it some 5-6 years ago or more. But a Smith & Wesson revolver it surely is not.
