Hey Friends,

I've have a set of stag grips laying around and some 1911 Barber silver quarter dollars all from 1911. I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this but I'd like someone to place one coin either Barber quarter or dimes matching from 1911 into the handles (:D:D:D). Or, grips, stocks.... I think it would be neat to have one on each side, recessed.

Does anyone know an artist or company I could call for this? I have the materials, just need help with the workmanship. I'll post follow-up photos.:)

In the spirit of the post, please share any custom 1911 grips you have. All are welcome and thanks in advance. Best, TH

These are the only really "custom" grips on my 1911s, as most of them are armory-original, being actual service weapons. However, these constitute my personal battery of the breed, and the image on each of them reflects that. Top to bottom, Colt, Kimber, and Springfield Armory. All are thoroughly reliable and accurate.

John

Thanks, John. ^^^

I'd like to open up the definition to 'anything not factory'. To clarify. By the way John, you have one of the best collections out there in WW2 and before 1911s. Thank you again for sharing. Best, TH

I think I got a photo on this computer...

This is my barbecue gun. A Colt mark IV series 70, accurized and tricked out inside.
Handed down from a relative now deceased. The grips are hammered gold and silver he obtained on a trip to Monterrey 46 years ago.
I anticipate that this one will stay in the family.
