Who in their right mind would take Walther's new Quiz???
Just got an email from Walther asking me to take a "quiz."
It ain't a quiz....it's 20 questions designed to elicit your name, email address, how many guns you own, your yearly "gun/ammo" budget and a lot more stuff that's nobody's business.
If you enter, you could win a Walther PPK (wow!?). (And for sure "win" an eternity of emails selling stuff.)
Who in their right mind would fill this out, even if they were sure it came from Walther, couldn't be hacked, and wanted to be discreet about themselves and guns.
I'm not including the link to the web site. But anyone who gets the Walther email blasts is sure gonna get it.
I just wonder why the marketeers at Walter think anyone is gonna fill it out.
(And yes, gun companies and lots of other folks get some of that info from warrenties, or I give them an email addy so I can find out about things, or they track my computer use. But this puts all that stuff in one place...and it ain't gonna be my stuff.)

I own numerous domains and one feature of my package is that I can create unique email addresses for each domain. So, each time I sign up for something, I create a new address such as [email protected]. I’ve lost track of how many of these address I’ve created but, it doesn’t matter. Any incoming mail to one of my domains gets delivered to me regardless.
Why is this useful? If I begin receiving email to that “Walther” address from, let’s say, Gander Outdoor, I’ll know Walther sold them my address.

Just popped up in mine as well. Since I don't have a Walther, wonder how they got my email? Gunbroker? One of the forums?
And no, I'm not filling it out either.

Lol.....I got that too.
I don't own a Walther, and NO I don't plan on filling it out either.
Does make me wonder how they got my email addy.
I'm thinking they got it from gunbroker.

I received the "quiz" this morning, and after seeing the type of questions they were asking, I thought it was unwise to give them the info they were requesting. It looked like that info could be used for other purposes.

I have no desire to ever own a Walther so my response would be just that.
We willingly give out so much information it is no wonder we have no privacy anymore. I had a lot more to include but I figured I better just shut up.

I never answer emails like that.
Don't trust emails telling you to log into your account and having a link. You never know who is trying to rip you off by a scam
Oh, I got the email too this morning

Walther fishing email
This may not actually be from the Walther Gun Company. Many bogus email scams are in the names of legitimate companies to make you feel "safe" and respond. It could be from Walther but it sure looks scammie to me.

I seem to never get any advertising emails. But I clear all my cookies, cache, etc before I shut down every time I am on line.

I'm with washerman on this one. When in doubt, delete.

I can tell you from experience that the marketing staff in gun companies s always in its own world and rarely listens to salespeople or those with experience in the field.
