New rig for the Wrangler
I tried out my new cross draw rig for my Ruger Wranger at the range today. I think I'm going to like it and it's handier to access when I'm on the tractor or ATV.

Nice rig. Probably worth about half the value of the Wrangler.
Not knocking the Wrangler, one is on my wish list.

Nice rig! Including the rifle. Tell us more about the knife and sheath, please.

Ha, more like 3/4 the cost of the Wrangler. But it also fits several other SAA revolvers I currently own.

The knife is a 3/4 sized Old Hickory style that was custom made for me by a local knife maker a few years ago. The handle is stabilized Spalted Maple from a dead tree he found in a pasture. Spalted Maple is technically not a specific species of Maple, but rather a general description of any type of Maple that has been allowed to begin initial stages of decay, and then subsequently dried (preventing further decay). The partial decay, called spalting, gives the wood dark contrasting lines and streaks where fungus has begun to attack the wood. The blade is made from good old sawmill steel.
Once the knife was finished, I had a local leather craftsman, who is a retired deputy sheriff I've worked with, make the sheath for the knife.
I liked knife so much that I had a second one made.

I like the knife and sheath as well as I do the holster and Wrangler. The whole setup looks great, but I love that style knife.
