I have one just like it . . . the Rossi 62 carbine that is. I bought mine new in the early '90's to teach my oldest son to shoot with and later my youngest son learned with it as well. I've got it set back in the vault for my 3 year old grandson when he's old enough to learn.
It's actually a well made little gun and both my boys found it accurate enough to take squirrels with it.

I have a really nice Winchester 62a and hardly ever take it out. Rossi? I'd grab one if it ever came my way.
Good looking pup. I never knew of the breed. It looks to be a little larger than a Yorkie?

I had one of the Rossi 62 rifles about 30 years ago. Nice little rifles, accurate and reliable. Don't remember why I let it go.
Still have a 1939 vintage Winchester 62A in excellent condition. Certainly more desirable than the Rossi copy but getting to the point that collector value makes me think twice about taking it out in the woods. That is the primary reason I recently added a CZ 455 American .22 bolt action rifle, great quality at a price point that allows me to use it without worrying about it.

I have a 1947 62A in very nice condition and it is a tack driver as well. Love those little guns.

I have one of the Rossi 62As. About 20 years ago, a guy I knew at the time took it in on trade. He always just planned to resell it. After several months of no takers, he finally just said "Somebody give me 60 bucks and its yours". I bought it and have never regretted it. Great little rifle and a real tack driver.
This thing, a brick of ammo and a set of swingers makes for a fun afternoon!

She'll get to around 14-15 lbs and the breed does have lineage with 4-5 different Terriers and the Yorkie is one of them. The Australians started developing the breed in the early 1800's,they were looking for a good dog that would take care of mice, rats and sometimes even snakes and also serve as a companion as well. Bonny is our second one, we lost Lucy last November.. she was a rescue. Lucy is how I became familiar with the breed.

OP - I used to own one with the case hardened finish on the receiver. Against my better judgement, I bought it as it seemed well made. I have had bad luck in the past with Tauri...
It had feeding issues, and was wildly inaccurate. Turns out the barrel had "a little wiggle" in it.
Glad to see you got a good one. When done right, they are nice rifles.

My dad bought a rifle version on the late ‘80s. It was a fairly accurate little rifle as I remember. One of my brothers in law enherited it after he passed in 2003.

Might be a Texas Yorkie?
Neck reined and no English saddle.
Enjoy that pump...... a 62a is on the to get list as well.
A Rossi replaced a Winchester when an old friend’s Grandfather’s Winchester was stolen.
