SA EMP 40 3"

Yup,

I've got one and it is accurate and has never missed a beat reliability wise, not once. I'm quite happy with it.

I have the EMP4 in 9mm. While they are pricey, they are really great shooting guns. I hear the steel frame of the 40 shoots a lot like the alloy frame of the 9mm.

I decided to go for one. I guess I'm one of the few left that like the 40 (and 10 and 45 and 44) and if their current lack of popularity brings prices down then that's great for me. I have had one of the SA micro compact 45s for a number of years and have liked it.

The 9MM EMP has an alloy frame while the 40 S&W EMP has a carbon steel frame and a stainless slide. The 40 is heavier and tames recoil better.

Many years ago my agency tested both when we were considering changing duty guns. They shoot good, but are a bit heavy.

I have an EMP .40 4". It is quickly becoming the answer to the old question "If you could only have one pistol what would it be?" Accurate and reliable without a flaw. I am a lefty and found that the ambi safety was too narrow on the right side and I missed it on a fast out of holster presentation. Called SA, the EMP will take many of the same parts as any 1911. Solution was the installation of a Cylinder and Slide wide ambi safety. It is pretty close to the best pistol I own and I own a good many quality handguns. It gets carried nearly every day.
