I know the pistol came from this site a few years back and I believe a gentle soul from Dixie allowed me to purchase the grips. I had never put the ivory on a gun before today as my paranoia on cracking them ran too high. However, my luck has been good this week as we got our 3rd cutting of hay this year, a first for us.
The 1911 Government Model is the nicest I have owned, being manufactured in 1951. The stocks came with a letter of authenticity from Kenya in 1970. They look pretty fair together.
