Default First year Remington 870

A relative is gifting me his Dad's Remington 870. His Dad bought it in 1950 the first year they were made. I'm not going to sell it but I'm curious if anyone can give an estimate as to it's worth.

A few years ago my relative had talked to Remington about it and they tried to buy it from him but he wants to keep it in the family.

Thanks.

I had a 1950 Remington 870 many years ago and was impressed with quality of the fit and finish. I didn't see any real significance to first year manufacture so I sold it.

He could have sold it to Remington for big bucks and then bought it back for peanuts at the bankruptcy sale.

+1. Way too many variables to give estimate based on initial post.
