Let me state first off I'm a dyed in the wool S&W fanatic. The only other Rugers I've ever had were a couple Single Six .22.

Through some good fortune I came across this interesting revolver at a very good price. Bought it from the original owner. These have Novak sights, beveled cylinders, rounded and smooth triggers and this one at least has an amazing double action. I just got some compact grips from Altamont that will make it easier to conceal but still absorb the recoil. Fits in 3" L frame holsters perfectly.

I'm not a big fan of the brass front sight and will replace it with Novak's green fiber. They made two versions of this-matte blue and stainless, available from Talo. The blue is allegedly still in production, the stainless was made in a run of 4800 and are no longer. Two were up for auction on GB, one sold for over $1k, my search function failed me to find the other which sold this morning I believe.

Oh well, will be hitting the range this weekend, looking forward to seeing how it runs.

As I got it:

With the compact grip:

I have a 3” WC GP100 10mm. I can’t decide if I like it or not. My agency issues 40 and lots of it so it made sense to buy a 10/40 revolver. My biggest complaint is the top strap was cast or cut crooked. While it doesn’t effect operation, it’s an ugly defect. Otherwise, I like six shots of 10mm in a L frame size with a 3” barrel and fixed sights.

I love the stag Buck 112!

I hope that didn't insult your GP 100. I've been intending to buy GP 100s in .22 LR and 10 mm but I haven't laid out the dollars for a new gun in a long time and those haven't hit the used market around me yet.

It’s a Buck 110. It was a Cabela’s exclusive about 15 years ago. I bought it used but fair condition off this forum for about $50.

No, I’m not insulted. Ruger should be ashamed for letting that slip out of their factory though. I will never buy a Ruger sight unseen again. This was a model I really wanted and I could not find one anywhere. I made an agreement to buy it at a very reasonable price from an officer I had met years ago when he responded to my WTB. A couple of years ago I bought 4” GP100 in 22. I probably should have kept it; especially now that they are selling for a grand.

Am very pleased with my WC GP100; it is my house gun. I find the DA to be superior to that of the SP101. Due to this, I bought the GP100 Match Champion, thinking it would be an improvement on the WC. Nope. Sold it a week later: couldn't shoot it at all. I had considered the RB rubber grip for the WC but I'm more comfy shooting a SB grip style. Happy New Year to all. Be safe.

Loyaljeeper, You might send your GP100 back to Ruger, with a nice letter describing the issue. I bought a new GP100 10MM this year, with issues. On the second trip back, the nice folks at Ruger kindly replaced the gun.

I have thought about it. I also thought about just shooting the piss out of it with the boards of 40 I have.

What issue did you have?

I have a 3" stainless WC, and I love it. I think that gun is almost the perfect carry 357 once you put the compact grip on it. I don't carry it very often because if I'm carrying a belt revolver I reach for my 3" M29.

These days I mostly pocket carry my K6S and/or belt carry my Hi Power.
