Moo Moo,
If you have to then ration your ads in your posts. Any ad that is gun related is welcome as you know. I still have about 100 magazines that I have not tapped yet. This thread is fun, but starting to get like work. Will post my ads later.

I have a few knives in my collection, mostly military stuff though.
Not sure what you are asking in the second paragraph.

Anschütz pt. II
Here's the second part of my 1985 Anschütz spread.
These focus on the top of the line International Match rifles and their extensive accessory selection.
Their Meister Grade rifle is pretty nice, too!
PS: Yeah, I've got piles of untapped stuff yet to come.
(I wonder why this thread only ranks at 3/5 stars?)

Yes, I went out "all guns blazing" and now down to a few knife ads. But don't stress, I've just located a box of missing Gun Mags in my garage. Plenty of new material now.

I have had Walther, Anschutz, Suhl, Remington, Winchester, Martini, Kimber, and H&R heavy barrel match rifles (and probably some that I have forgotten). But I am down to a couple of Winchester 52's, a Remington 40X and a Suhl in the safes. This is my favorite.
I too, have wondered why only 3/5 stars. With 22,600 views and 505 posts what have you got to do?

Here is an ad for today that required 2 pics.
Have no fear---I have plenty to cover until the end of the year.

I have a Browning Medalist and it is the reason I no longer have a S&W 41, Colt Match Woodsman, several High Standard match guns and a Walther GSP. Just picking it up and holding feels like you just put on a well fitting glove!
I had a Savage/Anschutz Match 64, the odd thing was it came with Redfield Olympic Front and Rear sights. A friend wanted it more than I did.

AJ, That's quite the collection of smallbore match rifles!
Those Savage/Anschütz rifles were also imported into Canada, but by CIL. Of course, they're known as CIL/Anschütz there. My dad has one.
Today's ads are from the former print version of Shooting Sports USA. If you're an NRA member, you might know the free online "magazine" they refer to by the same title. It's hard to complain about free, so I'll just say it's worth about what it costs!
The former print version was by paid subscription and was good enough that I saved all my back issues.
(These are likely the only 21st century ads I'll post!)
1) Walther
2) Creedmoor Sports
3) Hämmerli USA. Wade & Hannelore Anderson were great folks. They loved to talk Hammerli, were very friendly, and great to deal with. When the Lenzberg factory wound down operations, they retired.
4) Fulton Armory. Nice match conditioned "M14"-type rifles
5) Those are case prices for .22 LR. Brings a tear to my eye!

I have a Walther OSP, same gun but in .22 Short. Very accurate and a fun gun to shoot.
I will make a point of going to Grice Gun Shop in Clearfield, Pa. when there in Feb.

I shot a Walther OSP in Rapid Fire pistol matches. (Before rule change that dropped 22 short.)
There's a lot of gun stores in PA. The Handgunner Shop in Topton is excellent. And, so is Dixon's Muzzleloading in Kempton. Even if you're not into muzzleloading, it's a breathtaking array of gun parts, tools, new & used muzzloaders, etc., all displayed like a combination museum and store. Both are in the general whereabouts between Hamburg and Allentown.
The Cabela's in Hamburg is the largest in the chain, and was well worth the visit before Bass Pro (Great Outdoors Group) bought them out. Now, they're just another "Made in China" big box store.

I was stationed in Pittsburgh for three years and was at most of the small gun stores in the area. I tend to stay out of big box stores, much prefer the Mom & Pop type gun shops. Have a friend that lives in Meadville and we visit the small gun shops within about a 100 mile radius of there. The heart breaker was a gun shop that had been in business for over 50 years closed. The original owner still ran it and he got cancer and passed., his kids had no desires to run a gun shop.

My wife is from Lenhartsville. Dixon's is 5 min away. ![Smile](https://smith-wessonforum.com/images/smilies/smile.gif) They used to have the annual Gunmaker's Fair, but the last year was 2019. There are lots of small gun stores and gunsmith shops throughout the state, and many of the small towns have their own "Rod & Gun" clubs.

There use to be a very good gun show at the Expo Mart in Monroeville. My Marines had a display there and folks were trying to buy our M2 and other auto weapons. The Security Guards had a conniption fit when they figured out we were armed with loaded weapons. The promoter told them we had to be armed to protect the weapons we had.

The first ad is for Moo Moo. The Savage ad is what folks call a "gill gun" it has vents on the left side. I have a Savage Model 7 that is a "Gill gun". My Grandfather gave it to me when I was 10 (1961), he had bought it new in 1938.

Monroeville! Home of the Monroeville Mall!!
The mall from Dawn of the Dead!!
There is an iconic gun store scene in that movie. It's a real gun store that George Romero found, and was edited to look like it was part of the mall.
The Gunner's Den:
The gun store (Dawn of the Dead - 1978) - YouTube
There is a lot of cool stuff in that clip! See the Colt Python for $376? Also, the Weatherby ammo.
Sorry for the digression!

Handloader ads 1969
I had the issue handy.
Interesting to read Winchester suggesting that their component customers might actually make their own ammo that's as good as factory (gasp!).

I have a bunch of difference things in my collection from Herter's, even a catalog. They had everything for the hunter, fisherman, shooter etc.......
I use to buy a few things from Springfield Sporters many years ago. They were bought by Century Arms. Should have my Sister show me the old building, as she lives in Penn Run.

MooMoo,
I like that Wischo ad!
These are from Handloader, 1969.
1) Sierra bullets
2) I've never seen an ad like this in a gun magazine: Colt advertising jobs for engineers and designers!
3) The incredible Brenneke slug!
4) Did you know that the Contender was America's favorite handgun? Funny how ads, covers, and feature articles conveniently coincide, isn't it?
5) Handloader used to have a staff artist and photographers. Their covers were beautiful. This is a nice one of (surprise!) an early T/C Contender. The photo is a transparency by Wallace Labisky.
Yeah, it's technically not an ad. But, I bet (along with the accompanying story) it sold a good number of pistols for T/C!
By the way, after T/C garnered customer attention for their 45/410, they also got some unwanted attention from the Feds! Seems they considered this to be in violation of the NFA. For a few years, this model/chambering was discontinued and became an expensive collectible.

A few more from Parker Hale.
I've never seen anything about this PDW before.

I learned to reload using a Lyman 310. Loaded many thousands of rounds on it until I bought my first loading press. My first 310 Tool went to a Sgt. that worked for me. He was reloading using a Lee Loader and set off two primers within 15 minutes of each other. I asked him to see his Lee Loader and took it and threw it in the trash. I then gave him my Lyman 310 Tool as I had bought a Lyman Spar-T Press by then.
The Air Sog is for Moo Moo's knife ads!

I started reloading with a Lee Loader, a set of the powder scoops, and their Auto-Prime tool. Still have, and occasionally use, these same great tools! Also have 310 tools, RCBS single stage, Dillon 650.....
Anyhow, "now for something completely different":
From Deutsches Waffen-Journal, 1973
1) Mauser and their new model 66, featuring interchangeable barrels, quick takedown, and a very short and fast action. The opening caption touts the fast handling: "Runs next to it, and the Buck is gone".
2) more Anschütz
3) the Hämmerli 150 free pistol. My favorite pistol shooting event. I used just about every Hämmerli free pistol variant from the pre-war MP33 to the 160, the last of the Lenzberg Hämmerlis. I used the twin to this 150: the 152 with electronic trigger.
4) Sauer Drilling
5) Voere over-under with choices of 12, 16, 20 ga over various .22s such as .222, .222 Rem Mag, 5,6 x 50r mag, and .22 WMR.

More from Deutsches Waffen-Journal, 1982
1) Peters Stahl makes some of the finest 1911 style pistols. They alter the design a bit to incorporate a barrel locking system akin to the SIG Hämmerli P240. Here, they advertise their 45 magnum.
2) "Shooting Holiday. The year-round Holiday tip for sports shooters and hunters" The Schützen Haus offers a restaurant, hotel, and multi-purpose shooting facilities from 25m to 300m plus skeet and trap.
3) An eye-catching ad from Springer's in Vienna. "For Lovers. At Springers". The prices are in the old Austrian Schiller currency.
4) Mauser model 66. "50,000 shots: The life of a barrel". The ad boasts that the Mauser 66 is the fastest handling hunting rifle, and that the barrel has a longevity of over 50,000 shots.
5) Gas Signal pistols are (were?) popular as they could be purchased as non-firearms. These are all made by Erma and are visual copies of famous designs.

Would love to find powder and primers at the prices that Hodgdon's is quoting. Prices at Sloan's are pretty good also. This is the earliest ad for Gerber that I remember seeing. Had a Benjamin abut the time of this ad, but it was a air rifle. American Rifleman 1962.

Been very slack lately. Here is a couple of examples of guns that try to get around Australian gun laws banning semiautomatic rifles and shotguns.

These are ads for glass from July 1951. It seems strange that the B&L Binoculars are more expensive than the spotting scopes.

You are correct that there are twice the optics in a smaller package. However, the binos are about 1/3 as powerful as the spotting scopes. Each has it own uses for hunting and target shooting.

Still enjoying those vintage ads of guns of yesteryear. Imagine in the future of ads from 2021! Striker fired tupperware and plenty of synthetic stocks.

More accoutrements and a pistol from 1961. The Pachmayr ad does not tell the truth! I have one of those pistol boxes and use it every week. Loaded with three handguns, ammo, spotting scope and assorted tools, mine weighs well over 30 pounds! I have pretty much everything shown on the Redfield Ad, and the funny part is that I still use it all
