I have the original Colt factory grips on my short butt 1969 DS, when I tighten down the grip screw it protrudes to the opposite side just enough to be felt in the palm of my right hand. From what I can gather Colt used different length screws for their grips. Possible the prior owner mixed up the screws when he reassembled the grips. Like to know the correct length screw for this model Colt DS.
