After over a year of searching, I finally found two Walther PPK/S 22 LR magazines. Given the current prices of guns this is likely one of my big finds for the year. I have used the one mag that came with the gun since I bought it before the madness hit. Anyone know where I can get a couple more for less than the price of the gun?

You have three magazines, just wait until everyone is over this hoarding nonsense and buy extras when the prices drop

In the meantime have some fun

I’ll look at the 2 or 3 local stores for you next time I’m out.

My PPK is blued and in 380. They’re dandy little guns for sure.

On April 15 th I ordered 3 new ones, in original packaging from RTG Parts in Sheridan , Wyoming and had them in a week. They were $ 34 or 35.00 each plus shipping. Their phone # is 307-675-1191.

Congratulations. Those magazines have always been surprisingly hard to find, I've owned a PPK/S-22 since 2015 yet to this day I only have the one magazine that it came with, could never find any magazines for it at a decent price in my casual pursuit of spares.

I bought a PPK/S .22 about twenty years ago and still have it. Certainly a good pistol. I think it came with two magazines. I had no idea the magazines were so hard to find.

That is sweet colt saa.

Thanks. That can was the first one I ever built. It is bigger than necessary, but I wanted it to be able to run on a 22 machine gun. My most recent build is shorter and smaller in diameter plus I cerecoated the current one before engraving it.

The PPk/s 22s of today take a different magazine than the PP family of 22s from yesteryear.

The current magazines are normally much easier to find and far less expensive than the older mags.

But almost anything firearms related has been tough to find and expensive since the inauguration.

Kind of like looking for a roll of toilet paper at the start of the China Virus Crisis

I bought a PPK.22 awhile back and have been very disappointed. It is a Made in Germany gun, but is very ammo sensitive accuracy wise. The sights are little plastic items, and the originals shoot about 18" low at 10 yards. I did install a shorter front and taller rear and now it is only about 6" low at 10 yards. Groups at 10 yards range from 6" to 12". It will probably be going into an auction in the near future.

walther PPK .22 with threads on the end of the barrel

is a supresser or a silencer worth buying?

Vinn,
You need to try one and make that decision for yourself

You have not put your location into your profile information so we have no idea where you reside.

If you are in the Central Florida area, I would be happy to meet up with you and let you shoot one or more of mine.

If you are elsewhere, perhaps there is a Forum member in your neck of the woods that could make the same offer.

I just inherited a S&W Talo I think Premier is the model with the laser engraved non gold eagle in 380, and it was subject to the recall from Walther. I got a label from them, and sent the gun down South with no mags. They did what they had to do, and sent it back with a new finger extension mag. So now I have 3:)

It’s going to be a long wait for prices to drop much. As in never.
In two or three years, if they are available even then, with inflation and continued high demand, whatever was paid for these is going to be pretty close to the new, standard pricing.
Welcome to the New Normal!

They are cool guns, but the rear of the slide cuts the web of a lot of shooter’s hands, and the double action triggers are God-awful.

Bersa’s version of the .22 PPK is superior in every way to the Walther and cost’s about half as much, or less.

Thank you, RTG is out of these right now, but looks like a another place where I will find too many things I want over the years.

Houston Rick,
From you picture, the mags look like they are for the new gun. Be very glad! I have seen .22 mags for the older guns and they go for $150+ EACH!!
Larry

I tend to have newer "Shooters". No less fun to shoot. Yes, some magazines have gotten very pricey - when you can find them. I am also looking for S&W 3913 magazines. Another quest. Good luck with any that you are looking for.

Walther PPKS .22 mag. history

the S means it is a PPK with a longer grip, like the Walther PP due to a federal law requiring, they caused import laws, later removed. so the PPKS is a PPK with the PP grip.

I bought my PPK/S .22 used back in 2016. As I recall, I had to hunt around a little, but found extra mags without too much trouble. Not real cheap at about $35 each, but available.

They can be a bit ammo sensitive and generally require high velocity ammo to be reliable. Mine absolutely loves cheap old Remington Thunder Bolts. Functions perfectly and the most accurate ammo in this gun.

For suppressor use, the barrel is factory threaded, but you need a thread adapter. Readily available for about $20. ;)
