I’m thinking since CZ bought Colt the price on “Colt Colts” is going to rise. The actual collector Colts it probably won’t affect. They are already off the charts. The everyday type stuff is what I’m talking about. What is that going to do with the new generation of DA revolvers?
Colt has been run like drunken sailors in a card game. They tried politics and lost. CZ management has to be better. Thing is will Colt line of DA revolvers be produced? They don’t seem to be a major money maker to me. Selling a few hi dollar guns don’t pay the bills.
Disregard the DA revolvers. Colt let the 1911 and AR market get stolen from them. Not much excuse for that except poor business choices.Bean Counters running things instead of gun people.

Nobody thought Colt would ever re introduce the Python, but they did and it is selling well.
There have always been arguments as to where they are headed, but I think they will prosper in the future, high collector prices and all.
The marque is very strong...

bet we see a .22 revolver soon, best of luck to Colt.hopefully their quality will ramp up with CZ...I think its been getting better, Lets go Colt! Colts Colt means little to me, not sure it means much to most buyers of new ones....I have a '69 diamondback, I'd buy a '22 diamondback in a second

I see the Anaconda is back. New review in the July issue of Guns&Ammo. Six or eight inch barrel versions. Semi bright stainless steel. M.S.R.P. of $1499.

With a "Gun Co." running Colt now - they might get back in the game after playing catch-up for 40 years! That's what happens when pencil pushers (non gun people) run a Company instead of actual knowledgable, enthusiastic people. The General who headed up Colt many years ago might have been good for the Military aspect of business, but he payed no attention to the civilian end. I believe his name was Gen. Keys.

If a person wanted to be picky, and I do not, there hasn't been a "Colt Colt" since 1901. I think CZ will be fine, at least I hope so, I'd love to see Colt thrive and do well. As far as what people will decide what has value, I haven't a clue.

1901: The company is sold to a group of investors.

1955-1959: Facing a deficit due to declining orders after the war, the company becomes a subsidiary of the Penn-Texas Corp. and then is sold to another group of investors.

1990: The strike ends. The company, now called Colt Manufacturing Co., is sold to a group of private investors, union employees and the state of Connecticut's pension fund. The Rampant Colt, the gilded statue that reared atop the Colt Armory dome since 1867, is sold to international art dealer Peter Tillou for $550,000.

1994: The Hartford Armory location closes and business relocates to West Hartford. The company emerges from bankruptcy and is purchased by new investors, Donald E. Zilkha and John P. Rigas of New York.

I'm glad Colt has been acquired by "gun people" who have a track record of success. This hasn't been the case with Colt in a very long time.

That said, their pricing is still way out of line for the value IMHO. I would like to see CZ break the union that has been strangling Colt for decades and move out of Connecticut to a manufacturer-friendly state in the south. When the Pythons, Anacondas, etc are down at or below $1,000 MSRP, where they should be to compete with S&W, then Colt will be able to flourish.

Whatever CZ does with the product of "The Pony" on it,
they do.

Get it right, or not.

Or not quality, will result in Pre-CZ, to value of stamped ponies.

Kinda like the steady perceived decline of quality in S&W
since post early 80"s.

The problem with moving them out of state, is that without Hartford, CT stamped on the gun it just wouldn’t be the same. And speaking for myself I probably wouldn’t want one.

CZ owning Dan Wesson hasn't hurt Dan Wesson.
I absolutely disagree

CZ's acquisition of Dan Wesson has led to the discontinuance of all the firearms that Made Dan Wesson famous

You can no longer purchase a Dan Wesson designed firearm.

All that is currently available due to CZ's purchase of the company are 1911 clones

Same 'bean counters' killed Winchester and more recently Remington.

Colts have always NOT been worth the $$$ they command.

Taxes and the anti gun would probably drive cz/colt out of state besides labor/ manufacturing costs. The bottom line profits drive any business.
