picked up my new Cimarron frontier 2 weeks ago..LGS got it for me..opened box and found it looked great except for spot on top frame that the CCH did not cover, it has the lacquer coating though..sent pics to Cimmaron, they said I can send it back, they'll look at it...no promises..6-8 weeks, if left unfired...I thought it over, LGS worked with price, and advised to keep it..That is what I did...what a fantastic shooter! smooth, accurate.. trigger is somewhat of a turn-off,not sure, but it looks cast? but it is light and crisp...this is a lot of SAA 4 click for the money! Comments are welcome

Sure is a beautiful gun. Amazed to hear of the nylon trigger. What is the purpose of it over metal? Nice bluing and color case for sure.

I was entirely enthusiastic about Cimarron/Uberti until they went for the retracting firing pin. Before that safety feature it was a virtual clone of the SAA. Here's my Gen. Custer:

Congratulations. Enjoy yours!

I took the 'safe hammer/trigger' out of my Uberti El Patron .45Colt and replaced it with their 'normal' 4-click set; I'm no gunsmith, but I found it to be so easy to do, I actually felt guilty :-). I also changed the grips to a set of 'fit'em yourself' one-piece Kirinite (polymer/plastic) from Eagle Grips. This gun is one of the finest fit and finish out-of-the-box guns I've ever owned. I own FA's etc, but this is MY FAV..... period.

Beautiful six-gun!

I would be interested to know where you got the old style hammer and trigger and how difficult it was to get them.

Can you post a photo of the new retracting firing pin hammer and trigger? I would like to have a peek.

CptCurl.... Bill Graf included the link to the parts at Taylors above. The hammer and trigger are in stock for an unbelievable price of only $79.50 + shipping...... the cyl pin is not in stock at this time but you can order just the hammer and trigger separately.... DO IT, you won't be sorry. p.s. I don't have a picture of the orig hammer/trigger and probably won't get to taking one in the near future, but I'm quite sure they are available somewhere on the internet. It's just a big PIA for me to take pics (I don't have a smart phone and hopefully never will :-))
