Huntsville Recoups Investment in Remington Arms Agreement - City of Huntsville
Hope Georgia has better luck. Remington promised same to Huntsville in 2014. Many industries shop around to see which suckers will pay the most.

The article said they had facilities in Lenoir City, Tn. Odd, I live in Lenoir City and never knew they had anything here. It’s not like we’re a huge city, we have infer 10,000 residents.
I’ve lived within 8 miles of LC and for the last 6 years lived in LC. I’ll ask around.

At one time Remington had a rifle manufacturing facility in a small town (Mayfield KY) south of Paducah. I suppose it hasn't existed for some time, but I don't know why it closed. I know it was there around 10-12 years ago as I saw it in an industrial park.

According to reports I have seen Remington Firearms recently started shipping new made 870 Express shotguns. Supposedly made at the Ilion plant but it wouldn't surprise me if the new owners were looking to take the gun production out of New York state.
Many of the various companies that were part of the Remington group were already in other states long before the bankruptcy and breakup of the operation. If my memory is right they had a plant in Kentucky making 22 rifles, I would suspect it went with the Remington branded gun division from Ilion when sold off but do not know for sure. The various other gun lines went to other purchasers, for myself I am most anxious to see how Ruger does with the Marlin line.

ATLANTA (AP) — Gun maker Remington Firearms will move its headquarters from Ilion, New York, to Georgia, with plans to open a factory and research operation there.
The company announced Monday that it would invest $100 million in the operation in LaGrange, Georgia, southwest of Atlanta, hiring 856 people over five years.

They went bankrupt and have sold and reconstituted under new owners. More importantly, they shed all of their previous debt. They are producing guns again. I've been seeing them in shops. Hopefully, they won't the transition problems that Marlin did when the old Remington bought them and moved them.

When the announcement was made on the local news there was a brief glimpse of the Sandy Hook incident mixed with the footage.
