New acquisition: Squeeze cocker

Just acquired on auction a Chantilly stamped Heckler & Koch P7M8. Condition is excellent, internals are super clean. Two mags included. Date code is 1986.

I've owned the PSP police trade-ins in the past, but always lusted after the M8 and M13.

Finally found a very nice M8. Has the fat-trigger and W.Germany stamp.

I paid a lot (over 3k), but these Chantilly's are going for a lot more these days. I got lucky (even though the prices are insane).

I have watched over the past 10 years these gun appreciate in value. I'm not sure there will be a ceiling in the foreseeable future.

Anyone else a fan of the old German Staple gun?

About 20 years ago I picked up a PSP. Sent it off to Robar and had it NP3d.

I was still carrying mine up until about two years ago. I started to watch the prices go up and decided it was time to retire it from holster duty. I've had mine since new in early '93.
The first one I ever shot belonged to my crew chief when I worked for Pan Am at JFK in the late 80s' - early 90s'. His was actually a P7-M13. I was a 19 year old kid and just fell in love with them. The stacks of old SOF magazines in my old closet at home, with the HK full page advertisements, had a lot to do with it also.
Sorry I can't find any pics out of the holster.....I think these were from a holster thread at one time.

I am also a fan of the platform. I have an M13 and an M7 in excellent condition and one of the re-worked, plum colored slide M7s that I carry when I'm feeling saucy. I sure couldn't afford them in todays market.

Yes, I lucked into a P7M8 2 or 3 years ago when one walked into my pawnshop. 2 mags & original case. I shoot it well but it is hard for me to keep it "squeezed", I need to work on my hand strength.

I have said before, that if this was the only gun I had, I would love it.
I had one for years. I really think its a cool platform. I sold mine when I discovered S&W revolvers.

My brother carries a P7M13 every day. A little butt heavy, but it is a sweet shooter.

Prices have gone nuts on those things. You have to pickup a whole bunch of aluminum cans to pay for one of those. Great shooter for sure.

When I was an international police officer in Kosovo, my station commander went on leave. I offered to clean his duty sidearm, an H&K P7. It just so happened that I was going to be doing range officer duty during those 2 weeks.

Whenever I had down time, I shot the snot out of my buddy's squeeze cocker.

Loved it, especially with all that free ammo.

When my station commander returned, his P7 was nice & clean.

I found this 1981 P7 in a pawn shop two years ago. I felt guilty about the price I got it for but I got over it.

I got one for a retirement gift back 12 years ago. Like new, possibly restored by H&K, as it was a police gun...I think. Box, tools, two mags. I like the way it shoots but my old hands have a problem pulling the slide. I'm glad they're bringing big bucks but I won't sell mine...at least not now. $3K????

These are sweet, but have become a bit of a cult item and the prices reflect that.

When the Nds-stamped German police P7’s were replaced in the early 2000’s, officers could retain theirs for €170. By the time HK had taken the rest back and exported them to the US, and they made it into retail, they were at $700 to $900. Nowadays ….

In 2018, Bavaria became the last German state to give up on the P7, citing lack of factory support and spare parts; they adopted the HK SFP9 instead. By 2020 the change was largely completed. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the retired Bavarian P7’s will land on any civilian market.

Huge fan of the P7 design. I have two Steyr GBs, but I don't have a gas retarded blowback gun using a piston yet.

I remember when CDNN had P7 type pistols (PSPs ?) for $600 or maybe $800 in about 2005. I just couldn't bring myself to buy one, I mean over $500 for some shot out police pistol??

they do have a strong spring that makes for a tight action.

As far as prices go: I saw one, just like mine (Chantilly, 'fat trigger', like new, M8) go for $4,800 last week.

Unbelievably expensive, but they will only go up in the future.

Back in very early ‘80s I had a P7 that was used as an occasional on duty BUG as well as an off duty pistol. Then came the original S&W Mini Gun, the 469. I went to a local S&W LE distributor and sold/traded that P7 for a new 469… the P7 was a marvelous shooter, but to me at the time seemed too heavy for a nine round gun, compared to the new Mini Gun.
Years later, maybe around 2000, a LGS has several P7M8 pistols in the showcase, no box or papers, but with 4 magazines. I picked the best of the lot, mechanically excellent, but a bit worn on the exterior. No reimport marks, no ground off European agency marks, just a nice P7M8. Paid around(?) $900 bucks, which I thought was fair for the time.
The gun went off to William Birdsong for a Black-T/Green-T refinish and has been stored as a safe queen ever since.
Recently, with all the hype, I decided to get it checked out by a reputable P7 expert and it will be going out to Teufelshund Tactical for a going over. After that, I think I gonna load it up and send some rounds down range, as the P7s are amongst the best shooting 9mm pistols ever built!
