This one made it past the sharks at the door of the gun show this weekend
1976 vintage Colt MK4 Series 70 in 38 super. Not new just honest wear on a 46 year old pony. $750 in today’s market is not too bad. IMHO

My dad’s best friend never missed a gun show in his region and he never went in the door of any show. He always got there early, parked where he could see the entrance and watched for what people were carrying in. He had the best gun collection I have ever seen.

Could you even sleep that night? I'd have made sparks getting to the wallet.

that would go for at least double in a properly run auction with lots of eyes on it, like Gunbroker.

I'm not even a 1911 guy, and I'd have bought that. Congrats!

I am recovering from total knee replacement on both knees so I table sat most of the show. Did pick up a nice browning 30 inch XS in 20 gauge Sunday morning off another table for $950. I was surprised at the crowd this close to tax time. Lots of people spending money.

A clean, unmolested Series 70 in 38 Super, you got her for about half price.

I have two Commanders in .38 Super and would have been on that deal like a duck on a June bug.

Well worth $750. Here in California the seller could have priced it around $1750 and not had much trouble finding a buyer.
Interesting addition of a wide spur hammer and lanyard loop type mainspring housing. Not original, but certainly nice mods.

Cool 1911! I have the urge for a Colt, and .38 Super. You achieved both at once! Bob

Early filers spending their refunds. I notice it every year.
