Default What are used Remington bolt guns going for

where you live? I don’t think I have seen a Remington 700 under $1,000.00 for a long while now. There was a 600 or 660 in 6.5 Rem. Mag in a local forum for $1,300.00 last week.

I don’t track values on these as I do other brands, but to me the question is whether these or any other gun values are rising out of proportion to the rest of the market. In the case of Remingtons it may be driven by whether certain models are going back into production?

I don't see a heck of a lot of them for sale at the LGS. So I have no idea.

Who is going to make the "new" 700?

Not being a fan of the 700, I don't know what they're selling for these days. However, the rarer the chambering or more desirable the model, the higher the price. 30-06 v. 35 Whelen. However, given the totality of the gun market, I imagine $1000 700s in oddball chamberings aren't unusual, but maybe not for an 06 or 270. A lot of imported guns filling the voids at more reasonable prices. Turkish guns have become plentiful in the past couple years. Their quality is really hit and miss.

I guess it varies by area and what model 700 you're talking about. I bought a 700 wood stocked ADL with a 3-9x Leupold scope for $450 a couple months ago in a local shop. I see the synthetic stocked guns tagged $400 to $450 pretty regularly. A friend just bought a nice 700 Youth .243 (the synthetic stocked gun with floorplate) for $400 with a cheap scope a few weeks ago. I haven't seen amy BDL's recently, but I'm sure they'd be a good bit higher.

I saw a few BDL's sell for a 1,000+ depending on caliber recently. 270, 30 06 243 were selling under 1,000.

This information is a little dated but about two years ago I located a purchaser for a widow that had 3 long guns to sell. One was a Model 700 BDL in .270 Winchester. It had a nondescript, low end, 3-9X40mm scope and no ammo. The rifle had been hunted and had multiple small digs and scratches from being used in the field. As best as I can recall the sale price was less than $500; in the $350 to $450 range.

I sold a 670 in 30-06 at auction in January. It brought $550.00, which was more than I expected. It was a truck gun most of its life. Birch stock, flat finish blue and kicked like a mule. Replaced it with a stainless/synthetic stock Henry in 44 magnum.

If you think 700 prices are high, take a look at 760 and 7600 pump rifle prices. Pump carbines??? You dont want to know!

600's have periodically traded for inflated prices, particularly if in an odd caliber like 6.5 Rem Mag or 350 Rem Mag, supposedly an Alaskan favorite. They were a little outlandish in styling for conservative tastes, but were very light with good triggers. My brother had one in .308 Win, a sonic boom with a short barrel. A clean 600 in 6.5 Mag for $1,300 doesn't seem too outlandish in this crazy market, particularly with the craze for anything in 6.5 mm.

I've been wondering about these myself. I have an early 70's 700 C, which was an attempt by their Custom Shop to sell a lower grade than their D's, F's, etc. According the the listing in old Gun Digests the C's took 16 weeks for delivery from time of order, due to hand lapping of the barrel, hand checkering, and other features. A recoil pad was $12.00 extra.

It's a really nice looking, slick operating and accurate gun (in .243). I haven't hunted in years, and have often thought of selling it, but I just like it. I think most people today would not want to pay what I think it's worth, and that means it's not worth what I think. I enjoy owning it, so here it sits.

Default 700 BDL

I was in Brownells yesterday & they had a new 700 BDL in 30-06 for $949.95. The only Smith revolver I saw was a very worn 10-6 for $500.00. I thought everything else they had was on the pricey side.

Interesting. Seems for quite a while these 700 models could be had used for cheaper than I would imagine despite walnut and high polish bluing. Think I paid $340 for a new 700 ADl back in 84 in 30/06. Walnut too.

Thank you, I know what a Winchester 670 is. I don’t know how it relates to current Remington 700 prices.

I have a Remington 513T .22 target rifle just like the ones we had in my rifle club in high school. What is it going for? It's going nowhere. I'm keeping it forever.

Rem 700 Magpul with 5R heavy barrel in .308 is what I'm looking for. There are a few NIB on GB but they're about $1200. ADL's with 26" barrel are about $700.

I bought this 700 Classic in .270 a year ago from a friend's fathers estate for $600 with the period scope. It is in excellent condition.

I just got an old M 514. Made 1948 - 1970. I bet it must be worth a fortune! Under $200 total OTD. Seems like I'd sell it for $200! Nahh, it's gonna be a young man's 1st .22!

I don't know what's going on with 700 Remingtons.Loafing at my dealers a guy who is a customer came in and offers him 2 NIB 700 BDL`s one a 300 magnum, one a 270 for 900 each.Next day he put them on the rack for $1100, they both sold to the same customer in a few hours.Looking at completed auctions is eyeopening.

I see the 721 and 722 models selling for between $400 - $700. Price depending on condition and caliber. Most had scopes.
The 700s in common calibers are about $600-$800.
Personally, I'd rather have the later models. Don't care for the shiny stocks.

Picked up my January 1979 vintage left handed 700 (.270) almost 3 years ago for $650. I felt like I overpaid a bit at the time, but it was lust at first sight. Now, I’m feeling like it was a pretty decent buy. (I added a Redfield 3-9x40 that I had sitting in the safe)

Recently picked up a 700 Long Range in 300 Win. Mag. with mounts and rings and no scope for $650. Story is that the previous owner shot a box of ammo and decided not to hunt elk. Not sure whether to sell it now or wait and see.

Even high-volume sites like Guncrack seldom have 700 BDLs right now, especially not in unusual calibers. My 35 Whelen 700 BDL is pretty much unobtanium.

How about the heavy barreled stainless "5R" Mil-Spec-type 700s in .308 or .300 Magnum that were still in production a few years ago; what are they bringing?
