Back to the range
After couple months of no shooting due to eye and shoulder issues went to local indoor range Im a member of. Guys asked where I’d been as we always “ shoot the bull” and we are all Veterans. Buddy also recovering from foot surgery AND he just got his CMP 1911A-1. Guess not so bad at 15 yards rapid fire with Commander and Supermatic Citation. May sell Supermatic as it shoots Way better than I can hold. 6D713232-1EE5-44F5-A4DE-44370D06C49C.jpg

The “ Real poke in the eye” was just that. Couple months ago was pulling weeds in back yard. Tough to pull up so I jerked one up and before I knew it darned stem poked my right eye. Used eye drops and pain went away in about half hour. Then few weeks later noticed my vision in right eye was bad, worse than any time before. Called my eye surgeon and had to wait about a week. She said no serious damage and spots and “ worm” would most likely go away in about 6 months. Sight picture is very blurry but guess its good enough. Shoulder issues are age related and from work.

Yikes! This is why I wear either clear or tinted polycarbonate lens glasses when shooting or working in the yard.

Have NEVER had issues before pulling weeds ect, will be sure to wear glasses from now on. Shooting has never been an issue, Army made sure of that and running a shooting range/ being an instructor.
