My gun show partner told me of a Reeve/Harsey knife for sale at the Expo show this weekend so I had to take a look. Unmarked box, no certificate, DC53 steel (or so it says). Handle was made to look like linen micarta (it's not) and it looked like something Bill would have designed. More like a poor mans Pacific. And a CR'ish/Harsey logo.

I went to the CRK website and filled out the form for reporting counterfeits and Nolan emailed me to say it was, in fact a counterfeit. Chris Reeve never made a knife like that. They are using S45VN nowadays with real linen/canvas micarta.

I wish people would not do that.

Yeah, it really does pay to do your due diligence now a days. Take the extra 5 minutes to Google.
Chris Reeve uses S35VN & as you said S45VN primarily now a days.
& some fakes are pretty decent these days too.

A source of a lot of counterfeit knives is DH Gate. $30 Benchmade autos among the finery.

Ran into a guy at recent gunshow who was selling fake Spyderco's. I have been thinking of the Yojimbo folder and he had several, for about half the retail price. Said he'd gotten a deal on a sporting goods store closure. BS !!!! Made in China **** and Google Image search confirmed it. Seller was just a scumbag selling counterfeit imo after I spoke with him further.

Middle knife seems to be a Clone, not actually marked Kershaw.
Bought it at a Truck Stop near Gallup.
