I Don't "Need" a Gun...but???
I don't "need" a handgun. I've got more than enough for carry in most any caliber you can choose (except 10mm), plenty of "collectibles" (ala Beretta 1951, 92s, 92 [actually, that one is a Taurus] and 92FX, and a PX4), and range toys.
So I haven't been chasing anything lately. And I miss it.
Anyone have a neato suggestion of something decent, not all that common, and affordable (under $600) in today's overinflated gun marketplace?
Maybe a Star Super B or a bargain Model 10. Or I should just be smart and invest the money getting a few more a what I got slicked up.
Wadda ya think?

There are factory refurbished stainless PPK's in .380 on the big site for $619.
Considering that new ones go for 800, I took a chance. Apparently with the original case, paperwork, extra mag, and warranty.
I'll post it when I get it.

EAA's Girsan replica of the Browning Hi-Power might be to you liking and the price is right.

I'm on a self-imposed moratorium on gun buying. (Well, unless of course, I see something I can't live without!)
I have all my gun needs covered multiple times. It's now been a year and a half since my last firearm purchase, and it was a grail gun (Rem. 1100). Since then I've been upgrading what I do have, plus buying components when I see them for decent prices.

I just ordered one of these myself, for right at $500 out the door, for the two tone model. Just waiting on word that it has arrived.
I picked a Star "Ultra Star" 9mm a couple of months ago. It was cheap (<300) and I had never actually seen one. Sort of an odd beast I suppose. Conventional DA/SA trigger, single stack (9+1) with a steel subframe and a polymer overframe I guess is the only way I can think of to describe it. It's called a compact, and I suppose it was in it's day.
I admit that I use it mostly as an ELMS platform, but I have live fired it, and it is a shooter. Part of that may be that I've learned the sights and the trigger so well from I don't know how many "shots" with the ELMS (Expert Laser Marksan System) that the gun feels like part of me now.
If you happen upon one, they're long out of production, in good shape, it might be worth a look.

Whenever I run out interests in firearms, I turn to parts kits and see what I can build and customize on the cheap. It’s a fun alternative.

Probably not on your radar, and not old, or classic, but I just bought a brand new Henry Frontier Long barrel 22lr lever gun with a 24 inch octagon barrel. i didn't need it as I have plenty of 22's levers, single shots , and automatics. I normally don't buy new, but I have an interest in seeing the gun industry continue so i try to find something new to buy every so often, and I like Henry products. This rifle has not disappointed as hitting golf balls offhand is no big deal at 50 yards.

Well, I haven't been in the market for any kind of gun lately but I'd like a new threaded barrel Beretta M21 but it's not a big thing of importance. So, need or want are kind of in balance and at a standstill, especially since my last 3 gun acquisitions were gifts!

Doesn’t sound like you have any magnums so your far from done. Try some real power and get into revolvers.

You have any Savage handguns? They're pretty cool collectors that haven't really gotten pricey yet.

How about the Ruger 57?
Just a thought. You can probably pick up a used one, within your price range.

Just came upon this slick shooter at a local pawnshop...SIG P232 SL. Have to give it a good cleaning, has some goo that accumulated under Hogue grips that were on it. But other than that, pretty much LNIB.
Came home with me for $500 OTD, including box and docs.

A Henry lever action 22 is what got me into shooting. You have the right idea my friend. Amazing guns and such cheap fun compared to any other caliber.

I don't know about sub $600 but you can definitely find them sub $700. And they are so fun to shoot. Only problem is how expensive ammo is for it

Actually I'm pretty good with revolvers. I do have some magnums -- 357 -- in the form of a 66-2, 28-2, and a High Standard Mk. IV, which is really a Dan Wesson but has a HS rollmark.
And I'm ok with 38 specials (38/44, 15-3, Victory, and 642 plus a Colt Police Positive) and have a bunch of 38 S&Ws including a Perfected, Terrier, and 38/200 BSR.
I'd like to thank all who posted, you input helped a lot.
Sop now I've got a couple of guns at the smith's being "upgraded;" a Berettta 92 about to go to Langdon to get slicked up; and I've got a weather eye out for a Henry .22, as my 10/22 got "borrowed" two years ago by my middle guy and I'll never see that in my safe again.
Again, thanks for posting.
