Colt Woodsman, I finally got one!
This has been on my bucket list for over thirty years now. A Match Target 4-1/2" series 2 model manufactured in my birth year. 22's are my most common handguns, including a model 18, three 17's, a 41 and a 6" Colt Diamondback to name just a few. It is supposed to ship tomorrow.
I will be the third owner, the second one only shot 50 rounds through it. He said it was original bluing! Grips appear to be wood so perhaps not original.

Congratulations. That looks like a fine pistol. I have a few different Woodsman’s and enjoy all of them. Accuracy and workmanship are outstanding. Have a great time with it.

Great guns. I have two, a 1939 4 1/2” first issue with adjustable sights and a 1970 6” third issue. Pic is my 1939. Too lazy to dig out my other.

Colt Woodsman, I finally got one!
I too have a couple of them. My 3rd gen Match Target is likely the most accurate pistol I own and enjoy it immensely. Hope you enjoy that beauty!
And a 3rd gen Sport …..

Cool gun, I like the 2nd series due to the 1911-like position of the magazine release (not that speed reloading is needed with these).
The ones of these I have seen have all had the "Coltwood" (aka plastic) grips, so these may be 3rd series replacements that look nicer. Enjoy!

Congratulations on purchasing one of the finest .22 target pistols ever made!
Now, find yourself a nice early Model 41 to go with it, and you'll have a pair that's just about impossible to top.

Looks legit to me. Congrats. Very nice MT. I shot my 4.5 MT yesterday in a 2 gun .22 match along with a cmmg dedicated .22 Seekins AR yesterday. Shot clean but at 71 my times weren’t stellar. I do have another much nicer one in the safe. Watched other shooters fight with their sig and ruger .22 pistols, my ugly Colt had no problems. Great pistols.

If there is one gun Colt should resurrect, it is the Woodsman. I have owned two of them, wish I still did.

I don't think Colt will be coming out with a new variant anytime soon but these guys should be hitting the shelves within a few months. If you look at their facebook page they were working on final assembly of a bunch of frames back in February.

I learned to shoot with a Huntsman. Unfortunately, I couldn't inherit that one.
But many, many years later I got the urge to own something like that so I bought a used Browning Nomad. Sweet shooting gun I have to say.

My Match Target and M41 are two of my most fun and accurate pistols. I know you will enjoy that one and congratulations on the adoption.
