8 years and 2 months to find a Colt Army Special barrel
8 years and two months to find a .41 Long Colt Army Special barrel after I split the forcing cone in the Army Special with a too hot reload. (see photo below).
A Colt Forum member alerted me to one on sale on Gunbroker last week, and I was the winning bidder. It's in rough shape, but it's the first one I've seen for sale since the mishap.
Persistence and good people make things happen.

Patience is a virtue!
It took me over 20 years to find a 2nd barrel for my Mauser 66!

This is why I never exceed what the gun was designed to shoot. My M1909 Colt U.S. Army in .45 ACP, is fed what the War Department told Colt it wanted for a loading. They specified a 250 grain bullet and 750 FPS. I duplicate that load with 5.6 grains of Bullsye with a 250 grain cast bullet. I do basicly the same for my Colt 1903 Hammer by using 2.8 grains of Bullseye.

Nothing. The Mauser 66 takes interchangeable barrels. Whats the point of a switch barrel gun, when you have only one barrel?
The barrel that came with the gun was chambered in .243. I needed another that used the same bolt face and finally found a .270 Win barrel.

Wow, that's a sweet rifle, well worth the wait on the second barrel.
