It pains me to ask this... (gulp) Glock forum?
I have a Glock 40 MOS gen 4, and a Glock 23 MOS Gen 5, and I am looking for a forum not unlike here, that is NOT filled with mall ninjas and fan boys. Lots of Glock forums, I just can't stand the "noise" from the fanboys.
I want to pick up a few things, and so much of the aftermarket Glock stuff isn't even fit to be on an Airsoft.
Help me Obi Wans, you are my only hope.

I read far more than I post and I have come to the conclusion that there are a fair number of Glock owners on this forum. Why not post your questions here ?
For the record I own a model 34 and a 19 both gen 4's and like them both. I've put thousands of rounds through the two of them but mostly the G 34 with no issues whatsoever .

I agree with Empe. There are a lot of very knowledgeable and experienced Glock owners here.

I think GlockTalk is a great forum. You're never going to get away from mall ninjas and Internet keyboard commando know-it-alls. So ignore them and listen to the people that make sense.

Most "Gen 5" extended slide locks are being made incorrectly.
A basic Gen 1-4 works great in my M40 10mm.

Since there are a lot of current and retired LEO's on this board, they should have a lot of experience with Glocks.
Not my cuppa, but they are good pistols.

Plenty of knowledge here. Another forum with a similar vibe is THR (not sure if I can post a link here).

This is made incorrectly? Sorry that the picture rotated!

What is 'poor' or 'incorrectly made' about them?
Have you researched the 'Vickers' model? Not sure if they make one for the Gen 5.

the gen 5 has a small bevel at the back edge at the top, and the notch for the spring is a trapezoid. And the glockstore one is barely wider than stock according to some reviewers.
A properly made gen 5 extended will work in gens 1-5, minus the narrow or single stack models.
the cross armory one is properly made, from what I see. Glock & P80 Accessories | Extended Slide Lock | BLACK | Gen 1-5 I'll order extras, as I plan on a 27 and a 29 later on.

The part circled in red is the slide lock. The part circled in green is the slide stop lever. Are you searching for a slide stop lever with more surface area?

Great music at Cross Armory.
As soon as I find my red cape I'll watch the install.

I believe that you will find a good number of people on this forum that own and are knowledgeable of Glocks and are willing to help with any question you may have and be civilized in their response. I have always found Vickers Tactical/Tango Down to be a good source for my aftermarket Glock needs.

I like Glock Talk as well. Sure there are a lot of blowhards there, but they're all over. I' m sure someone thinks I'm one of them.
About all I ever read over there is the "General Firearms" section though. I don't think I've ever asked a Glock question or talked about a Glock oddly enough.

For what it's worth, I think the proper spelling is "Glock fan bois"
Yeah, they get to me, too. But thankfully those types don't seem to last around here though I've encountered a few - they lose interest here quickly when their "superiority" doesn't shine among the regular crowd.

I just ordered from glockworks.com (I think that may be correct) an extended & raised slide release, made by Kagwerks, for $45 plus shipping, for gen 3 & 4. There are others on their site. Not sure but it may be the same or slightly longer that the one in Post #14. I watched a video on the installation and it's just 2 pins that hold it in place. He did it inside a 2 minute video, so I figure 2 nerve pills and maybe half a day I should be able to do it! (Just joking about the pills. But I will probably need them after I'm done.)

Got banned, didja?
Kidding...
There are knowledgeable and helpful folk at GlockTalk, but yes, you have to work hard sometimes to separate the signal from the noise.
If you're intent on a different site for your Glock info, go to pistol-forum.com.
It's by far the best place out there for technique, training and gear-specific discussion. Hard focus on technical talk in most of the subforums, and there are plenty of very experienced Glock-focused members who are treasure troves of info shared freely.

All of the Glock forms are full of trolls. Just go to pistol-forum and ask your questions. It's a clean, good forum with good people with a lot of knowledge. Kind of like this one.

I agree that GlockTalk is a pretty good forum.
I don't get all the dissing of so called Glock fan boys. The biggest blowhards I've seen are the 1911 know it alls. Not only do they pounce on folks for owning striker fired guns, if you didn't pay at least two grand for an approved 1911 pedigree you ain't considered one of "them".

My 2 cents worth. Upgraded my G19 (G4) with a Titanium spring rod and an "AIM Sports" light that attaches to bottom. It's only 150 lumens but puts out plenty of light. I also purchase a half dozen extended 17 round magazines from Glock. Glock also makes a rubber like attachment called "XGrip" that slides over and down the extended mag and fills in the space between bottom of handle and bottom of extended mag. Looks great and gives you a place for your pinky finger. Good shooting.

The reason the slide stop is low profile is because people “ride” it with their right thumb causing the slide to not lock back after the last round. I gave up on them years ago.
If you just have to have one, I would find a Certified Glock Armorer and get his or her opinion.
