Gets out of jail next week. Thinking of putting on a fiber optic front sight. Most likely green. Maybe a Hi Viz. There are quite a few choices so any other suggestions welcome.

I'm unfamiliar with the Mark IV, but looks like the sights are the same as on earlier guns. These sights work very well as is. As a suggestion, consider trying them for a while; you may decide a change would offer no advantage.

Just got 2 of the blued Mark IV targets with alumnum frames, threaded bull barrel and standard grip. Triggers are terrible, but one cleaned up decent after being lubricated. Likely the mag disconnects. IMO the accuracy potential is excellent. The beginning of the chambers are not chamfered as well as my Mark II, and will not feed an empty case, but feed a couple differing rounds fine.

I have the same gun, and installed a Tactical Solutions front sight with red insert. From Midway USA.

The big difference with the MkIV is the way it is disassembled for cleaning.

Much easier and foolproof, the other Mark's can be a PITA to strip if you don't know the trick.

I have the green fiber optic front sight and it makes a big difference. Try Dawson Precision.com. They have excellent sights.

Shoot it a few hundred times , to break it in and see what the factory parts do , before you go to changing out parts ...

Paint the front sight flat white with White-Out Correction Fluid ... I find it stands out better than hi-viz and fiber optic .
I use a White-Out Correction Pen to "white in" the front blade ...it is flat white lacquer , cheap , easy to find and keep a pen in your shooting box for touch ups or to show your buddies how clever you are .

Williams fiber optic sights work well.

Second vote for Dawson Precision. I used the 22/45 compatible .400” tall sight on my MKII.

I was looking at the Hi Viz but they have two styles. One is moe enclosed and the other uses a spring to hold in the lamp. I guess the open one will get a touch more light. But the other might protect better. Decision decisions.

The videos make it hard to decide.


Just a 10 dollar price difference so not really an issue but given a choice triggers my OCD.

There are indeed lots of sight options. I have HI VIZ sights on my S&W 22 Victory and like them well enough so I tried a set on my MKIV 22/45 LITE. Unfortunately, I found them too high and didn't like them as well so went back to factory sights. Later I decided to try a four reticle reflex sight with green or red options. Once I got it sighted in I like it's a pretty neat shooter and with the Surefire suppressor it makes a handy varmint getter around the place after dark. Several racoons and skunks have met their demise around the hen house with this one.

I absolutely LOVE the Tandemkross grips, highly recommend them.

I'm probably the only person with this opinion, but I find Hi-Viz sights to be distracting and harder to focus concerning my sight picture. It seems when on the dot I lose the clarity on the blade. I have degenerative eye issues though, so that probably accounts for a large part of it, but despite that it still seems distracting.

Here's by Bronze Mark IV 22/45. One of the first with a Dawson Precision Green Fiber Optic front sight. It also has an Allchin compensator and Halo Charging Ring from Tandemkross.

This is my back-up gun and runs just fine with Blazers, CCI SV and Mini Mags. It's back-up to my Black Mamba so it doesn't get much use but it's always with me as a comfort thought in case.

Good advice by Faulkner. Try it at least month with 4 or 5 outings before you make any changes. MD

I agree ... that's why I posted the tip about whiteing in the front sight blade with Bic White-Out Correction Fluid Pen ...
I find the flat white color highly visible but not distracting .

I guess because this is a simple and easy way to improve sights a lot of people think it's not viable ... try it ...it works .
