Hoping for some insight on the value of a Remington 1100. I believe it is 1975 vintage. Has 28” vent rib and 24” slug barrel. I don’t have pic of slug barrel buts it’s as nice as rest of gun. It is drilled and tapped for scope. Wondering what a legit price might be. I checked GB and it’s all over the place as usual. Plus the extra barrel changes value. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Even with a second barrel? Maybe pics don’t do it justice. Definitely not well used. Any marks are lint smudges and oil

Another 1100 lover from way back. Yeah the drilled receiver hurts a bit but I would go over $350 for such a nice looking gun. Wood alone has me drooling. Heard Rem-Arms is making them again but imagine a new 1100 will cost close to $1100. Buy it!!

Remington 1100's are great guns.
But Remington (or whoever is making them this week) doesn't seem to support them anymore with parts.

What used to be a world of 1100 model parts everywhere has now dried up to near nothing.
What is left is high priced parts that some still have and they ain't letting them go easy.

MidWest Gun works was for years a go-to place for 1100 parts.
Now their 1100 parts inventory is dry.
They have 28 pages of 1100 parts,
The first 10 pages are accessorys like choke tubes and recoil pads, trigger shoes. They are available.
The nut&bolt parts start on page 11.
Page 11 thru 28 parts are all 'Out of Stock'.
Remington Model 1100 Parts.

People don't covet the 1100 like they used to. This situation won't help matters.
Maybe they'll start making replacement parts again. That'd help.

I have never taken a shine to the 1100. But I’d think some machine shop in Turkey, China, or Taiwan would want to take advantage of the parts shortage situation.

I bought my 12 gauge 1100 in about 1981 that shoots 2 3/4" shells. It came with an Improved Cylinder choked barrel. I bought a Modified barrel too. It has always been my favorite shotgun. Years later I bought a 12 gauge 11-87 with screw in chokes that would shoot 3" shells. I never warmed up to it. Still have it, just prefer the 1100. I would never sell my 1100, but would value it at $500+ with both barrels.

When Remington was a real company run by gun people, you could get your 1100 trap gun rebuilt at trap shoots for nothing. The same if you were shooting trap at the Remington Gun Club in Lordship, CT.
I am not surprised parts are an issue. Regardless of what they say, Remington has not supported sportsmen properly since 1987.

Just my .02:)

Worth well more in parts value in today’s market than as a complete gun.. here in the Kansas City area 1100s have dried up as the ebay parts sellers have bought them up. The barrels alone will bring at least $350. The parts resellers don’t care if the receiver is drilled because it will go in the trash can..

Around here (sw Iowa), it would bring $500- $800 easily at a well attended auction. Like others have said, parts alone are worth more than the complete gun.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. I’m selling my friend a 10-6 heavy barrel police gun for $420. That might be a bit low but he’s a friend & I don’t have that much into it. It’s a typical shooter grade police gun. Maybe a little nicer than most. Non matching grips that are not all beat up.
He asked if I’d be interested in the 1100 as a trade. I’d immediately sell 1100 as I have no use for ANOTHER shotgun.

sounds like a fair trade amongst friends.. should be easily able to get $400 or so out of the 1100 and maybe $200 from the spare barrel

I have to agree with triaxle. Just off the top of my head I believe around my area of PA, at least, you should be able to get at LEAST $450 for that shotgun. I doubt that tapped barrel would detach from the price; the extra barrel would just be a bonus with the shotgun. May never be used. I'm only going by what I've glanced over at gun shops, though. Good luck.

Speedgunner I agree it’s a shame about tapping receiver. I was thinking of removing mount and putting filler screws in holes. The gun really is a beauty other than that. Recoil pad could easily be removed and original butt plate put on. But I like the recoil pad. I’m 6’2” with long arms.I was thinking $500 for package. If I can’t sell it for that then I’m not willing to do the extra work.

I think I earlier read here that barrels alone were now bringing hefty prices. Would probably be beneficial to see what they are going for on Gun Broker at present before deciding on a selling strategy.
