Any Ortgies Owners ???

I have a .32 model. I wouldn't carry it with a round in the chamber, even with the safety engaged.

Here's an example of the 6.35mm version, sometimes identified as the "Vest Pocket" Ortgies, even though it's not especially small compared to other pistols in this caliber.

I've owned several of them over the years and even had a few of the rifles that some folks mistakenly call Ortgies. Deutsche Werke made both the rifles and pistols, but only the pistols were actually Ortgies designs.

Stumbled across this older thread with a somewhat recent post.

I have .25 Ortgies and have my eyes peeled for a .32 and .380.

My gun has been fired so much that the out-of-battery safety has worn a groove in the slide. Because of this, it thinks the slide isn't closed much of the time and therefore deactivates the trigger. This can be overridden by pulling the trigger over to the right while pulling it back. It could be fixed by welding or brazing into the groove, or my plan (some day) to just fill it with JB weld and smooth it.
