Looks like the Saturday Night Specials of the 1970s. The only Henry product I've ever handled is the .22 lever gun. It's accurate, but the receiver is made of zinc and covered with a steel stamping. I'm not paying close to a grand for that ugly duckling. In fact, I wouldn't pay $500 for it. Nor $300. I can't imagine the market for such a ****, but I might be wrong.

Evidently the American consumer likes brassy gold on their firearms much more than I do.

Brass is fine on a front end loader, handgun or long gun it looks at home on these.

All the Golden Boy stuff looks cheap and gaudy. Seems they had to include some the the same bling on the homely revolvers.

I'd like to find some blued steel 30-30's in stock. I guess their thinking is to keep demand high and supply low to maintain the margins.

Ruger seems to think a lot more than I do for the new Marlin 336. The old thutty thutty cartridge ain't dying, it's being murdered by the cost of firearms that fire it.

But I digressed off track.

My point started out to be, get some current product on dealer shelves before introducing something else to take up more of the company's manufacturing capacity. (Especially something with so little appeal)

These revolvers look a 10 year old was asked to draw his favourite gun. Just like the time Homer Simpson designed a car for his brother to manufacture. Lol.

My first serious thought was a fixed sight version of the Colt Trooper or The 357.

I seriously doubt the market is going to support this new venture by Henry, but I applaud them for their hard stand on MADE IN AMERICA.

Fellas this is an AMERICAN manufacturing company making guns. We are snobs. (but at that price I admit it would not be on the short list for new recolvers for me)I am pleased they are branching out and apparently doing well. I LIKE their 9mm carbine and would lOVE to see them come out with a 9 shot break top revolver in .22lr.
I do agree however that that price point of the revolver really surprised me.
After Rush died the local station picked up Dan Bongino who I have come to really like. A lot like G. Gordon but without the crazy. Henry is a huge advertiser on his show.

Butt ugly and they have lost their mind with that list price!! Their engineers who thought out that train wreck must be former employees of Harrington and Richardson, Charter Arms, Rock Island Armory, and RG. Sad first effort at producing a revolver.

I suppose most of us have uttered "Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time." Seems like Henry is competing with Mossberg in that arena. Mossberg evidently thought this was a good idea.

MSRP is too high. Let's see what the street prices are. Not too attractive looking to me, but I applaud their determination to make something new rather than to partner with an existing manufacturer to use an existing model and just make it look different.

Even that would be to much for a truck gun or a throw down piece.

Who knows? It might have a great trigger. The fit and finish will be nice. At $750 you'd at least look at it before buying a 686, 66 or 19. But I think it's mostly so the cowboy shooters can have a Henry double action to match their rifle.

Regardless of their pedigree, they're simply not pleasant to look at.

A polished blued 29 is rough on the hand, but easy on the eyes. Same with a Ruger SBH and several other big bore magnum revolvers.

I've walked away from several single actions due to the brass grip frames. Didn't really matter if they shot well or not, I simply don't like their looks.

Nothing snobbish about appreciating beauty or calling an abomination an abomination.

I figure the folks in marketing already know. I also figure the boss man must have a hand in their design and no one wants to tell the emperor he has no clothes.

Kinda sorta looks like a Model 10/13 knock off. I don’t care for the birds head grip, though apparently there is a more traditional grip style. If it were priced at about $400, or maybe $500 with adjustable sights, might be interesting. At $900, I wouldn’t even pick it up to look at it.

Not a fan of this revolver, but the brass grip frame is a throwback to the old Colt from the 1840's-1860's

I just don't see how they will ever compete with Ruger or S&W with those crude-looking revolvers. What target audience are they pursuing?

Kinda looks like a Ruger DA when shown 'in the hand' there.
No thanks, not even at 1/2 the price.
Too many nice 38's and 357's around for $1000 and less.

Gen-o-wine brass grip grip strap though. That should be worth the price I guess. At least bluing can't wear off of that.

Ruger used to put brass grip frames on .41 and .44 Magnum single actions.

At $928, I am definitely not a player. But then if msrp was $228, I wouldn't be interested anyway. Ugly, ugly, ugly

I don't know who does "market research" for Henry. Currently the Colt's 3" King Cobra .357 can be had for less. Give me that choice and I won't need to "decide." Joe

First of all, I like Henry. That said, I think their shopping list of rifles is a bit long. Just my opinion. but this particular specimen IMO is somewhat on the ugly side, and I do own a Glock.

I do not think the spirit would ever get me to buy one

Hmm..the plot has thickened a bit. Henry will soon be making Golden Boy rimfire revolvers! So I assume this same design but with a 9 or 10 shot cylinder. Size and weight is the same as the K-frame Model 15/18. If Henry can get the trigger right we might have something worth considering.

At a $900+ MSRP, I won’t be considering it long. If it had adjustable sights and a .22 Magnum cylinder, then I might at least pick one up and look at it.

I think it should have an octagon barrel. The straight tube looks like an afterthought. Anyway, it's good to see another reputable American manufacturer making wheel guns. Competition is always good.

I handled both grip styles at the Henry booth in Indy this weekend. Fit and finish was good. Trigger pull was smooth but heavy trigger pull in DA, single actions was crisp. Front sight was very good but the fixed rear sight seemed a little odd.

I talked to two of the reps and asked how they expected to be competitive with a $1000 fixed sighted revolver. They replied that the street price would be a couple hundred less, the companies reputation and 100% lifetime warranty would help find a market.

The birdshead grip version felt good in my hands and I have largish hands. Heft wise it reminded me of my 10-6 with much better grip feel. K frame grips always feel a little small and the trigger guard can rap my knuckles with heavy loads. For both of the grip styles on the Henry it felt like there was a little more finger room.

I'm a little skeptical what market share they are trying the reach. I think the era of the service revolver is long past and it's too large for most people to consider CCW. I would love to shoot one and if I ever see one < $600 I'll actually give purchase serious thought.

These apparently look nicer in person than they do in the renderings. That odd barrel undercut doesn't seem as conspicuous. I do hope they offer a version without the brass accents sometime, but I'm cautiously optimistic. The finish certainly seems nice, and those actual wood grips beat the Altamont laminate stuff by a longshot IMO. I'm also one of the oddballs that prefers fixed sights.

Nicely blued steel and walnut. American made.
That's going to cost you nowadays.

Looks like a copy of an RG, made in someone's garage. I'll bet that hole for the grip frame screw will leave a nice mark in the palm shooting full house 357s.

They look better in the video than in the pictures. I like being the 1st kid on the block with a new toy and may actually jump on one when they hit. If so, I will be sure to post up a range report.

Recall how S&W inscribed "Ladysmith" on the side of a few J frame offerings? I think Henry should do likewise and call one "Totie Fields" and the other "Lisa Lampanelli".

Doesn't matter which is which ...

I concur with that impression, but remain feeling that they're "neither fish nor fowl" as the saying goes. They may find a niche in the marketplace, but so far as moving a high volume of them, I still imagine the price is going to be an almost insurmountable hurdle for Henry to overcome.

It seems most here on the forum are not impressed. I must have poor taste in guns because I think they look very cool...retro in a neat way. I would like to get one as soon as they are in stores. And now I am thinking I might not have to wait too long for production to meet demand if many others don't take a shine to these. Lucky me.

So you're going to be more than happy to pony up 8 or 9 Benjamins for one of these Henry revolvers?
OK then, I guess that makes you a member of the "target demographic" that Henry is catering to.
Seems like a pretty small market niche, but at least the niche really does exist, contrary to most of the posts in this thread...

“Well, we’re not gonna just let you walk outta here”

“Who’s we Sucker?”

“Me and Henry.”

As soon as they are legal in California, they can take my money. I have the Big Boy 357 rifle and I do not need another 357 revolver, but I sure as heck want this new Henry with the Gun Fighter grip. I LOVE the looks of their new revolver and everything about it. Plus, it is a Henry. This will be my next firearm purchase and my only non-S&W revolver.

Yes, it is brass and matches the receiver, butt plate and barrel band of the Big Boy rifle.

I think Henry was going for the look of the Colt 1877 Lightning or Thunderer, but with the added convenience of a swing out cylinder.

As with their lever rifles, with this new offering they ended up with a hodgepodge of several designs that just looks "off".
If Henry were to branch out into cars and introduce and automobile, it would probably look like a cross between a Model A Ford and a Yugo.

Look at the reviews of the new Big Boy revolver on YouTube and lots of guys seem giddy over it, most likely ones that are already owners of Henry lever guns.
If Henry lever guns appeal to you, then most likely you'll like these new revolvers.

Heck, if the price was in the mid $200 range (like the decent Rock Island
M200) I'd consider getting one for a truck gun or a throw down gun.
I just wouldn't want my friends to see me with it.

Someone said the new Henry looks like a track and field starter gun, I got a chuckle out of that.

California and the other nine anti-2A States that are trying to ban all semi-auto firearms.

Given the cost of living in California and some other States even mrsp of $928.00 may not be unreasonable. IMO Colt revolvers are way overpriced. I wonder what S&W revolvers are selling for?

Default Market segment for Henry revolver

My thoughts exactly. Who do they expect will pay $928 for this gun? For another $40 you can get a model 19 Classic and have adjustable sights and some style. For under $900 there is the new Model 10. There are also the Rugers in the same price range.

It is probably a functional and well made gun but very overpriced.

Every bit as ugly as their rifles. I guess people that like the look of Henry products could go for it. At that price point, I think it will be a huge loser for the company.

Looks like a Rhom. Do not want.

Now, I wish that they would get back to building the Big Boy X model, but in SS. That I WOULD buy!
