CZ 75 Compact
As referenced in the GIRSAN Hi-Power thread, this is a recent acquisition. Once I give it some range time I will carry it. Presently, it sleeps in the safe.

I have a CZ 75 P01 and love it. Loved it so much I sent it to Cajun Gunworks for their pro package upgrade.
Enjoy.

I'm not the biggest fan of their triggers, but the CZ-75 series sure does work and those Compacts just feel so good in the hand! Thanks for posting it!

I'm with Uncle Pauly! I have a P-01 Omega. I am a lefty and it has a double sided decocker or can be converted to cocked and locked. I sent mine to Cajun for the full package as well. It is just lovely now.

Okay, thanks for the nice posts, but now I have to ask:
1. Ladder13, your gun has a different safety than mine. What's up with that?
2. Uncle Pauly, what is the "Cajun Gunworks pro package upgrade"?
Thanks!

So years ago we had a patrol deputy who carried a 1911, and a sergeant who favored a 9mm S&W. They teased each other mercilessly about their favored duty gun and load. Deputy took a call on an accidental shooting involving a third-gen Smith 9mm. Guy stuck the loaded pistol into his waistband just right of his navel, and it went off, seriously and negatively affecting his manhood.
After they loaded the poor guy into the ambulance (he survived) the deputy called the sergeant and said that he now understood why they were called "decockers," but he now had empirical proof that the nine mike was a "weenie gun."

CZ makes two versions of the Model 75 Compact without an accessory rail. The standard Compact is like ISCS Yoda's and has a steel frame and the PCR (Police, Czech Republic) Model is like Ladder13's which has a decocker and an alloy frame.
The non-decocker CZ's can be carried in Condition 1 if desired. The decocker models only drop the hammer to a half-cock notch which lessens the initial stroke to fire it from the safe/decocked position.
I am a big fan of CZ's products. If you are like me and detest polymer framed, striker fired guns they are well worth a look. Here's my PCR. The California compliant models only come with two 10 round magazines but for those that live in free states the standard mags are 14 round.
One caution is not to dry fire them without snap caps. The roll pin through the slide that is part of the firing pin assembly can get peened and break. Cajun Gun Works sells an inexpensive solid pin as a replacement. I just use a snap cap or put a small rubber O ring in the back of the slide to cushion the hammer blow. Just don't forget to remove it when done with dry fire practice !

my PCR is on the waiting list to be sent to CGW for the pro package.
CZ should come with a warning " Beware after shooting a CZ firearm you WILL want more" they multiply
Venom6 I will never think of a DECOCKER the same..

Speaking of CZ 75 compacts, do y'all know anything about the CZ 2075 RAMI?
I almost bought one ~15 years ago, but the DA trigger pull was AWFUL.
Now that I'm very pleased with my CZ 75 TSO, I'm wondering if I should check it out again.

A 2075 BD RAMI makes an excellent carry gun. It has edged out my 3913 and CS9 on the days that I carry a semi auto. Like it so much that I bought a second one, so that I can use one for range time and keep my carry clean. They were discontinued 2 years ago, but available 2nd hand. DA trigger breaks in quickly and is equivalent to a smooth K frame. Second the warning on the CZ contagion, as I am in double digits. Also, heard great thing about sending them off to CGW. But, I have ordered my own parts from CGW and various aftermarket suppliers, then changed/stoned the parts myself. Once I had a roll pin spare, I tested out the warning about dry fire without snap caps. After about 2000, you will damage the stock roll pin and the firing pin will stick extended.

I like the balance of the 75 Compact.
Heed the warning, started out with a 75B, then found a deal on a PCR, then a RAMI, later a Compact entered my realm.
They are addicting!

Yep, I have quite a collection too.
Cajun Gunworks will also just sell you the pieces, and you can do it yourself. David Milan is a good guy to talk to, and I recommend it!
Some of the changes can affect the function of your safety. That is something to know going in, but please call him about that, for his products have changed dramatically in the course of 3 decades that I've done business with him. He's one of the good guys!

I'm fairly new to CZ pistols. I have a 97BD and this 75BD Police. Both were worked on by Cajun Gun Works. Both are great guns. The factory original guns I have fired were decent pieces, but CGW makes them much better.

Changed trigger, thin aluminum grips and the mag drops free. Ex shooter, but a tad heavy to cc compared to other newer options.

There are versions with an aluminum alloy frame. Not the same features, or the same retro-appeal, but worth checking out at least. CZ 75 P01 Omega, similar weight and size (about 1/4 inch bigger) as a S&W 6906:

This one has Cajun upgrades, SAO, steel frame.
This one has an alloy frame, DA/SA
Like 'em both.

They are addicting.
In no particular order, and not counting my original AT-84 (a CZ-75 pre-B clone) I acquired a surplus pre B CZ 75 and a CZ 75D Compact PCR (alloy frameJ:
I also acquired the rather large 17 round railed SP-01, a CZ 75B, although it’s seen here with a Cadet in .22 LR conversion kit on it, a CZ 75D Compact, and a 2075 RAMI:
Here is my original AT-84S that I sold to my BIL and got back when he passed away last year, next to my pre-B CZ 75:
If I am counting correctly that’s 6 CZs plus the cadet conversion kit, and a CZ clone.
Today I looked at a CZ P-10 C and it’s the first striker fired pistol that even remotely interested me. It pointed well felt good in the hand, and had a decent trigger with a short reset, not 1911 short but still very short by DA/SA or striker fired pistol standards. They are priced right as well.

You can take a 16 round magazine for the full size 75b and take the base plate off and replace it with an SP01 baseplate and it will cover up the 1/4" of magazine that would be exposed if inserted into any of the compacts. Be aware that the full size mags for the SP01 have been known to have the baseplates come off if hit at a certain angle while being inserted. If you can't tell I also suffer from the sickness of I'll only buy one!

I purchased a new CZ 75 SP-01 about a year ago. I immediately replaced the original sights with TRU-GLO sights. In my opinion, the stock rubber grips are perfect.

I like the sights. I still have the original sights on mine, but it only goes to the range right now. I am considering making it my home defense gun. I think I know where the holster came from, but for everyone else, do you mind sharing?
Here is mine, next to a 5906 that has been around the block a few times, even before I laid my eyes on it. They both happily ate some ammo with dodgy primers my range bought during the pandemic shortage, and did not misfire or jam.

I replaced the rear sight on my TSO with one from CGW. Fully adjustable.
I was quite annoyed that my $2000 pistol didn't come with sight adjustable for windage.

Also bought some recoil springs from CGW.
Factory springs were too strong for me, made it difficult to operate the slide. Spring in now probably too light, but at my age, I accept the risk of damage to the gun.

Has anyone replaced their barrel bushing with the CGW offering? If so, did it actually improve accuracy as CGW claims? I'm on the wait-list for one with CGW, but would appreciate some experienced feedback. -S2

Speedo2, I would like to know about the bushing as well. I had the Pro Package done on my P-01 Omega but didn't see the bushing option and would have had them do that had I known about it.

This is where I got the holster: Azula Leather OWB 2 Slot Pancake Belt Holster CCW For.. Choose Color & Gun - 1 | eBay
This holster isn't perfect, but it's not exactly easy to find leather holsters for the CZ 75 SP-01, especially left handed versions.
[IMG] [/IMG]
[IMG] [/IMG]
I was not happy with the sweat guard, or back of the holster because the back came up above the trigger guard, making it impossible to get a full grip when drawing. I fixed that by trimming the back of the holster for clearance.
This cropped photo shows where I cut back the leather, sorry, I didn't take a photo of the holster back prior to alteration:
[IMG] [/IMG]
Other than that, anyone contemplating purchase should know that the holster will be very tight and will require quite a bit of break-in. Mine is now broken in, and I'm quite satisfied with it.
Note: I have no affiliation with the vendor or manufacturer.

I have two compacts and they have both been to CGW. The PCR had the Pro Package, barrel bushing and the slide was cut for the Holosun. The steel frame compact was converted to SAO, added their straight trigger, barrel bushing and night sights. Both are also wearing the SS guide rod. The holsters are from Craft Holsters.
The barrel fit is much tighter in both guns with the bushing installed.

So, there I was, watching some videos on the CZ 75 Compact when one of the YouTubers states that frequent dry firing of that gun will break the roll pin.
OOPS!
WHOA!!!
I had only done it a few times but I stopped that practice immediately. I have Snapcaps somewhere that I can use! Until they turn up - no more dryfiring!

I only have 2 CZs. Both Ramis - a 9mm and a .40. Good shooters, but that little .40 is a bit painful to shoot. Makes my palm sore and slaps my trigger finger pretty good. I do also have an SP01 clone made by Canik. It's probably my favorite handgun.
One day I will get a Shadow 2 or TS. Just haven't found the right one at the right price yet.

Check out CZ rifles...... Mauser actions (three sizes) good to great wood.
I started 12 years ago with a 452FS/manlicher stock in .22 mag...... added more than I needed over those last 12 years in .22lr .22mag ..17hmr, .223/5.56

The CZ Kadet .22 conversion kits are also an outstanding product. Although they have gotten pricey. I think the Kadet II kits will work on both the full size and compact models, they come with two different slide stops that have slightly different dimensions depending upon which donor frame you are using.
I have a 2000 vintage Kadet Kit that I use on my 1994 CZ75 "Pre-B" gun and it is a lot of fun and quite accurate. It is an all steel device so the weight & balance doesn't appreciably change and better than something like a Kimber or Ciener unit on a 1911 frame.
I like to shoot CCI Stingers in it, you get a nice blast & flash but about zero recoil. It is a bit more accurate with good old CCI Mini Mags and 100% reliable with pretty much every high velocity brand I have tried.

I have several CZ's. a Mannlicher bolt 308, a 75B, and this compact SPO1. Had a Shadow SPO1, but a worker who was part of a team doing some renovation at our home a few years found it and took it, and my wife's hidden cash stash.
Bought the smaller compact a few years go, used, with 5 mags. It is a superbly accurate pistol, shooting precisely to my POI. But the trigger was painful, so much so that I didn't like shooting it. So sent it to Cajun, who installed an older style trigger, with new pins or something like that, and whatever the small difference in the original and the replacement trigger is, it makes all the difference in painless shooting. I don't recall ever previously having a painful trigger, but it was but now is a really sweet although slight heavy pistol. A bit heavy for carry in UpState in the summer, in shorts.
CZ makes quality products. SF VET

I like the Kadet Kit installed on the SP01, but not so much on the aluminum frame from the P01 Omega. I looks and feels oversize and heavy on the compact alloy frame. The pic is from when I was comparing it to the Model 41.

I've found that neither Galco or El Paso lists CZ75's in their catalogs. The CZ75 Compact appears to be about the same size as a Colt Commander. Anyone have any Galco or El Paso holster experience with their CZ compacts?

I have the Italian version the TZ75, a clone made by Tangfoglio. BTW the TZ's have a reputation for a tighter build and better accuracy but I got mine because it was on sale used in unfired condition for only 400 bucks. Nice gun but the ergonomics are NOT optimum for older hands. Basically there is not enough serrated surface to get a nice secure grip like can be done with a 1911. The other issue is the DA trigger pull. Out of the box it was over 15 lbs. Pulled the mainsping and shortened it by 1/16 inch and now it has a 12.5 lbs. DA pull. Have 2 spares so at some point I'll do some testing to find the misfire point with Remington UMC but suspect that it will finish up needing more than 10 lbs.
Basically they are in interesting and very accurate design but IMO a well set up 1911 is superior.

They will not fit. I have several El Paso 1911 holsters and the trigger guard on the CZ is to round or big, however you want to call it.
I searched a bunch and the best looking ones that I found, I bought online from Craft holsters. They are actually made to the gun, not just a size 4 or whatever for a variety of similar sized guns. If i remember they are in the $90 range, but at that time they gave you get a discount on your next order, I think it was 10 percent at the time. Shipping was 4-5 weeks. I have a SAO steel frame compact so I got a thumb break holster for it. For the PCR with the Holosun, I went with the open top. Both holsters are very well made and they actually carry good, if that makes sense. The holsters are stamped Falco, I image Craft is just a distributor.

An SP-01 Phantom lives next to my bed with a combination light and laser on the rail. I also own a Baby Desert Eagle which is another CZ-75 derived design. It's the original model with polygonal rifling.

El Paso Saddlery will build you a holster for about anything. I have two they made for my CZ85 Combat. If you don't see your gun listed on their website give them a call. That is what I had to do some years ago for my then new Ruger flattop as it is a bit smaller frame than the regular Blackhawk.

I've been a CZ fan a long time and have owned several of their guns and always liked the CZ75B. I also owned the original small frame EAA Witness which was my "go to" defensive handgun for 20 years and foolishly traded it. I bought a Tri Star clone a few years ago for well under $400 brand new and it seems every bit as good as the CZ 75 and will interchange with all its parts. I put on checkered walnut grips and a Cajun GW spring kit in it and it now has an excellent DA and SA trigger and is very accurate.
