Can anyone tell me who made the grips for this Colt?

“LUUIIC” appears to be stamped into the butt of the left side grip…..

The grips are 1 piece and the owner did not want to remove them.

Yes, Ljutic.

They started in the late 1950's and did their own stock work. They're famous for their single battle trap guns. I'd contact them and see what they say.

I doubt you'll find anyone still working who knows, but you never know.
 
Absolutely gorgeous stocks!

So many of the elephant ears did not make it over the years, yours would be worth a pretty penny.
