Update on my new Tisas U.S. Army model .45 automatic:



250 rounds fired with the two factory MecGars and three CMP surplus USGI magazines.

0 issues. 100% feed reliability.

Slide locked back on every magazine. Smooth shooter. These use forged slides and frames, and cold hammer forged barrels.What’s more, every internal part is machined from solid billet steel and are “machined after hardening” to preserve tolerance. No cast or MIM parts at all. Machining, fit, and finish are superb.

Only issue is a little hammer bite but hey, that’s a GI M1911A1 for you. Thrilled with this gun. Excellent companion to my M1 Garand. Best deal going in firearms according to many. Several custom smiths recommend these as top quality, comparable to even a Springfield and (yes, believe it or not) a Colt.

Granted, it’s made in Turkey, but for $399 it’s unbeatable. Highly recommended.

I think the quality of what Tisas is putting out is equivalent with the rampant pony produced in past years. When folks brag on a brand's products being hand fitted that just means their tooling and machinery is not good enough to make the parts fit to the tolerances of modern CNC.

I'll not be popular for saying this, but hammer bite and slide bite are indications of operator error. If your body parts are getting mixed up in the works, hold it differently.

What LVSteve said and or meaty hands. Usually the first though. Had several Navy Chiefs that were more than upset with me as the skinny GySgt. Told them to hold the gun properly or lose weight!

Do they offer it in 9mm?

I would be very tempted in U.S. Army Model in 9mm. I have several .45’s.

If you have a beefy hand you will get hammer bite .
I just rounded the hammer with a dremel little by little to where there was no more hammer bite .

Bobbing the hammer will help with hammer bite. Also a commander hammer will help too.

That pistol looks pretty close to what we carried in the Army. I like it.

I have large hands so I prefer beavertail safeties on my 1911’s. Nonetheless I do have my Colt WW1 & WW2 repros for when I get to missing (for nostalgic reasons) the old hammer bite.

I bought a B45 Tisas 1911 2 or 3 months ago and impressive is the only word I know to use about this 45 ACP.

I just fired two 7 rd. groups offhand at about 25 feet that would rival anything I've fired with any pistol/revolver in my life.

230 gr. XTP's using a med charge of Blue dot powder and they're drilling the bullseye.

The Tisas line of 1911's are worth every penny and then some. I paid $419.99 for this one and it's probably the best four hundred dollar gun I've ever bought.

Agreed! This is quickly becoming my favorite handgun.

I think they have or are planning on a 10mm also.

ZERO FAILURES. PERFECT FUNCTION.

The slide has broken in and is slick as butter. LOVE IT.

As it should right out of the box. To each his own but I'm not one to try to figure out what parts need to be replaced or modified before I even get a new gun home. Tisas 1911's seem to work.

I have owned several. The first one was failure free for a couple hundred rounds and I got a stainless model. The first 2 mags had one ftf each which did not concern me since this gun out of the box was surprisingly tight and dry. I added a little oil to the rails and “sped up the break in process” by running 4 mags of 230 ball running close to 1000fps. Since then, over 1000 rounds with zero failures and will shoot as accurate as any stock Colt I own. I just put in a lighter recoil spring and will be running some 200gr SWC loaded with my favorite load of 3.7gr Bullseye this weekend. I expect it to run like **** through a goose. While I love my Colts, the Tisas is certainly a big bang for the Buck

I’ve got a reproduction M3 shoulder holster coming tomorrow in the mail. I also will be shooting my last hundred rounds of ammo through the gun.
If it makes it to 500 rounds, I’ll consider it reliable for defense.

To the casual observer, that looks exactly like a World War II U.S. Army issue M1911-A1. It's not a perfect reproduction of any specific issued M1911-A1, but that is more than close enough to scratch the itch of wanting a generic WW II issue 1911-A1 without spending well north of $1000.

I have two Tisas now, and almost bought a GI model like yours yesterday. Currently I have a Combat Commander style gun and a 10mm that has adjustable sights and refinements. Very pleased with both and will likely own more.

500 rounds in now.

ZERO failures.

Great for you and the Tisas. Have you tried feeding an empty case from the magazine into the chamber?
