Just picked up a hardly used, almost new 10MM Glock 20 Gen 5 MOS this past week at my LGS. Shot it Friday. It is one bad *** gun.

I purchased some Underwood ammo for it as self defense ammo and now I'm ready to go.

Can't ever go wrong with a Glock!!

Funny how the .9mm Glock, probably the standard of police handguns, has seemed to become the defacto standard for bear defense in 10mm chambering. A lot of Glock 20's end up in Alaska.

I had one (gen. 3 I think) but sold it a few years back. It was a good gun. It has since been replaced with a Glock 41 MOS w/ a red dot. 240 grain HC FN .45's at about 1000 fps hit pretty hard.

Way back when Glock came out with the G20 I bought the first one I found
I have owned over a dozen Delta Elites, still own one and I kept my 10mm Double Eagle
I did replace the Glock barrel with a Lone Wolf 6” barrel. The gun fits my hands nicely
I do prefer my DW 1911 style 10mm but I like them all

I really like mine. I added a Holosun MOS sight and could not be happier.

My 'go to' farm gun has been a .45acp Model 30, but this one is getting carried more, especially after dark. The holsters are from a gentleman down the road that has a tack shop. The last pic is my well worn Model 30.

I get that Glocks are excellent guns…but they feel like you’re holding a 2”x4” in your hand. Having said that I do own a Glock 29 and 30.

The Glock grip angle also doesn’t feel natural to me. After a life of shooting 1911s anything else doesn’t feel right.

I agree, I am a 1911 guy as well. I am not a fanboy of the different 9mm variations, but the large frame Glocks just work for me.

Glock 20

The Glock is certainly a proven 10mm platform. So much so that I was thinking of picking up a G29.

No glocks in our house and no 10mm wanted . 1911's and m&p's handguns cover our needs from personal defense or for big bears on a alaska fishing trip .

If more velocity and bullet weight is needed on target than a underwood 40sw or hst 45 loads then I'll grab a mag ot two of some 45 super ammo .

Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth I went thru the LFI-1 class with Massad Ayoob with a Glock 20. He said that he believed it to be the best serious defense pistol available (at that time). I not longer carry it as it is too big and heavy for my old arthritic body but I do shoot it now and again. I had to have a butt job on it so it fit my hand reasonably well. I have "used" it once, dog attack. One well-placed 10mm will put a pissed off pit bull down pretty fast.

When I speed hiked for exercise, rain or shine, most days a week, I carried my Glock 20.

I've had 3. First had rails break in a known failure of "E" series metallurgy.
Second is replacement "G" series from Glock under warranty.
Third was Gen 4 that I sold in attempt to downsize inventory.

I also own a Glock 29, my first 10mm(because I couldn't find a 20), a STI Nitro 10 1911, and a Springfield Armory Range Officer Operator.

I prefer 1911's in all shapes and sizes to any other carry gun. I mostly carry "j" frames and Lt. Wt. Commanders in .45.

Glock 20 is a good gun. I added a Cominolli safety to mine because I like manual safeties. G20 is accurate, reliable, powerful enough for me, and easy to maintain.

I've had a variety of 10mm guns over the years, but I always keep a Glock 20. It's one of my favorite Glocks and one of my favorite 10mm's. My current one is a Gen 5 which I prefer over the previous 20s I've owned. And as blocky and large as the G20 grips feels in my hands, I shoot it rather well. It just works.

In the running for the ugliest pistol ever produced. That being said I have a 21 gen 4 for home defense. The interchangeable back straps and the ease of changing the mag release to left hand make up for the lack of grace.

Just staring at a stripped g17 frame and a g20sf frame it is hard to tell the difference in size. In contrast the gen3 standard frame is a handful!
