Hi folks

I was looking at the FN 509 LS EDGE and while the gun got favorable reviews the trigger was marked down by many being gritty and heavy.

Anyone here own one and can tell me is it better than many other doesn't even have to be competition pistols, but would like to know is it on par with the walther ppq with apex flat trigger?

I realize and have seen gun owners at the range barely hit a paper plate at 15ft and love the pistol.

For me my minimum standard is freehand "controlled pairs" hitting the x ring at 15ft, 21ft, 30ft, and 50ft. At 75ft expect no less than 15 rounds about softball size groups.

The only pistol that consistently dovtat is my walther ppq and believe it or nit my gen 5 glick 20 stock trigger. Your thoughts

Had several 509/Fns series through my mitts. OEM triggers are thee worst of any striker pattern on the market. I've even had one with with the Shooting Star 'improved' striker. The latter didn't make much of any difference.

Suffice to say, any bone stock Walther PPQ, or PDP trigger will smack the snot out of the Fn 'anything'...Apex or not. That said, Apex is development for a Gen II replacement striker for the FN pistols.

I totally agree and after watching several youtiners probably bribed to say good things, found one that it was very flippy and the accuracy was ok.

I have shot may striker fired the ppq always coms out on top. However my gen 5 glock 20 with stock trigger shoots very well inead quite surprised because I usually dump all.stock triggerson glocks but the reason I didn't with the gen 5 g20 I shot it very well

I would add any Canik or CZ P10 to that list.:)

I have an xdm precision elite which has a trigger very similar to the 509 LS EDGE feels pretty decent when dry firing but when actually shooting it clearly not as.good as.ppq

I found the LS EDGE for $999 online so I bought it. The trigger is on par with gen 5 glock 20 and not mushy like the sig p320 or spongee like xdm elite.

I'll give it a whirl next week and let youvknow

Great price. Ended up with a 509cc Edge for $975 after FN $125 rebate. Trigger better than 509 for sure.

I missed the deadline for rebate by a few days but hopefully I did not make a mistake. The trigger is definitely about 1.5lbs lighter than the 509 standard and it is crisp like the gen 5 glock 20.

My test will be controlled pairs at 15ft, 21ft,.30ft, 50ft Wil provide full report.

I liked the cc edge but the short barrel was a deal breaker. Seen too many videos of bad guys requiring several shots to stop them. That's why I only carry 10mm

Anyway got my edge today trigger break is crisp and light. My only complaint the pre travel is a bit gritty. Watched a YouTube video where the barrel lug comes into contact with trigger bar. The fix is to either shoot a lot or polish the lugs

RANGE REPORT: took LS 509 Edge at 15ft, 21ft, 30ft, 50ft "controlled pairs" accuracy was incredible- almost as good as PPQ with Apex flat trigger.

However the pretravel was very gritty and distracting. A bit disappointed a pistol this much my gen 5 glock 20 pretravel is buttery smooth

At 75ft as long as I did a proper trigger press doing 2 casual shots 2" group.

Recoil impulse using 115, 124gr and 147gr was very soft. The stippling on grip was amazing and you only see that on custom jobs. Was the pistol worth $1500 I'd say no way but for the $1000 I paid would sayvyeah
