Mech Tech CCU
Mulling getting one of these. Probably mull it over, then find out, one day, like the Ciener converson units, that they are no longer made. Anyone have one ?
In my case, for my M1911s.

I actually have two. I got them used, along with a frame, and optics were included. It was a good deal. One is in 10mm and the other is 38 Super.
I have used the 10mm. It functioned fine with no problems.
I need to replace the optic on the other as I have not been able to open the battery conmpartment to install a new battery.

Couple of us bought the 45 ACP one few years ago. Might as well had my lead melting pot attached to the 1911 Frame. Could not see carrying it anywhere let alone if “ the need “ to use it came up. Sold it and never looked back. BTW, it function ok.

I bought one cheap a few years ago--it was for the Gl**k pistol (yes, I do have ONE of those). The tremendous "boing" noise it made turned me off after the first shot--took it off and sold it to a friend who didn't mind the noise.

I have a Mech-Tech on a Glock 21 frame (.45ACP) and it has been very reliable & fun to shoot. It seems to be a well designed & functional product. I agree with the "get one now before they quit making them" concern. Seems nothing good seems to last. Enjoy it while you can. The longer barrel did beef up the velocity and 'punch' of the old .45 ACP, which is a perk.

I have a couple - 10mm 1911 with 16" bbl and a 9mm Springfield XD with a 10" bbl with a folding stock pistol brace. Fun, easy to accessorize. I suppose one could use it for serious home defense and so long as it goes "bang" the more FPS out of the barrel the better.
Mounting the "lower" on to the device can sometimes be a bit of a pain, lining everything up. Pay attention and it shouldn't be a problem.
