I can't say that I've ever heard anything bad about them. They seem like decent pistols which simply never became particularly popular or well publicised.

Generally speaking, faulty firearms don't remain in production for long, so the fact that Mossberg is still making them seems to indicate that they're profitable and therefore don't have a bad reputation.

Personally, I've always liked the look of them, and if they were offered chambered in .40 S&W, then I'd honestly have bought one by now.

I seem to recall that the takedown is a little novel. That can sometimes put the brakes on a gun's popularity.

I've had the single-stack original, since sold. However, the 'full' size MC2C is a keeper. I've not yet hands on the double-stack little guy. Should be a winner, just like it's older siblings. If you choose one with the safety, it is reversible for your choice of direction.

Take down is novel, but dirt simple. Clear ammo, and lock-back the slide. The striker cover plate has a spring-loaded button. Press inward, and slide the plate down and off. Pull the striker assembly out of the rear. Release the slide forward and off of the frame. NO trigger-pull/ing is necessary. It encourages one to maintain a clean striker channel, since it's so easy once stripped. That's great for reliability.

The first SC would accept Glock 43 mags, also. I wonder if the the SC also can use another brand's mag?
