Any comments in these relative to workmanship and reliability?

I bought a commander sized version about a year and a half ago and have been quite pleased with it. Performs well right out of the box and plenty accurate after a slight sight adjustment. No malfunctions after nearly 1K rounds with a variety of 230 grain ball and HP ammo. I think they are way under rated.

A search in this forum using Tisas as a keyword will turn up a bunch of reports, pretty much 100% favorable.

I have one of their 1911-A1 models.
It’s a pretty fair copy of a 1911A1, with just a couple minor differences.
Mine has been reliable and accurate and the parkerized finish is well done.
I also have the now no longer produced Springfield 191A1 copy, and the Tisas has a much better trigger pull.

tisas 1911
I have 3, a 9mm and a 45 "tank commander" and a full size "GI" 9mm. No problems with any of them after many hundreds of rounds thru each. Forged steel, no malfunctions, great pricing. What's not to love?

Two I've been working on. At this point as far as I'm concerned, if you want a production 1911 go big and get a Dan Wesson, or buy a Tisas.

I own a Dan Wesson. I’ve shot a few Tisas.
Dan Wesson has a quiet but very loyal following and Tisas is rapidly gaining.
When I compare the two side by side, I cannot see a difference in workmanship. I will own one soon. Probably 9MM.

I own 2 of their 1911's and have shot their 9mm PX-9 with and without a suppressor. Very favorable opinion. The 1911's are as accurate (or better!) than my series 1 Kimbers and the PX-9 is a solid little gun.

The Turkish firearms are coming on strong and a great value. I have a bias for ATI/Rock Island for value but would buy the Turkish 1911s as i enjoyed firing them too.

Have heard nothing but good about them. Have a friend that is a Colt M1911 Collector. His carry pieces are Tisas.

I’m a huge fan and own two of them:
My first was their iteration of the WW2 Remington-Rand. I have fired 1000 rounds through this pistol with zero failures of any kind. Accuracy and reliability were flawless. I paid all of $399 for it.
After finding out what good guns they were first hand I bought their “Raider” model which is an homage to the Colt M45A1 which was the last 1911 ever issued to our military. I only have about 400 rounds through it but zero failures and remarkable accuracy. It serves as my bedside sidearm.
My thoughts on the Tisas 1911s?

I saw a couple of Tisas in a gunshop a couple weeks ago. The guy behind the counter seemed to really know his stuff. He owns 2 of them. He told me to try the triggers. Nice!
If Tisas ever starts making revolvers, S&W is in big trouble.

Buy one with confidence!!! Have yet to see a bad review on any of their models. I owned the GI Government Model .45 when they first came out ($400 NIB) and put around 700 rounds thru it with no problem. Let it get away from me to a buddy. Not in the market for a 1911, but if I were, the Tisas would be top of the list.

As the owner of a Canik and the Turkish hi-cap update of the CZ 97 I concur. The latter gives you 14+1 of 45 ACP, and when you run out you have a 40 oz hammer to beat the bad guy's horse to death as well.

Here's mine. A Tisas Tank Commander in 45 acp. Still in the break-in process (about 100 rounds through her) but she is running without a hitch. Forged slide and frame, great fit and finish, accurate, and a decent trigger pull. All in all not bad for a $400 1911. Love it!

Thanks for sharing the pic of your Raider; wow that is one sharp piece. After seeing your pic, I went to watch some video reviews and they were all on the same 10/10 level as you stated. I'm definitely going to look into that one more.

Took a look at the Faith just today on the net. Now to find one in a store to fondle. Looks like a winner to me.

Genuine M45A1 Marine pistols are $$$$ (3K plus) and I could never justify paying that even though I’ve wanted one ever since they came out.
When Tisas released the Raider it was a no brainer for me.
I did add some proper M45A1 stocks to complete the look. It is a GREAT shooter. Excellent trigger, sights, you will not be disappointed.

Being that I spent 24 years on active duty in the Corps, it is hard for me to fathom the mystique of USMC gear to folks. To us it was just gear that we used everyday.

That should bring a whole host of milsurp collectors to your door complete with torches and pitchforks.

I do have a WW II H&R Mdel 65 .22 LR trainer, that falls in the proper S/N range to have been used in the Corps.

LGS started stocking the Tisas, looked at a couple and dry-fired them. Great fit, finish, trigger. Guy behind the counter who usually carries a Colt showed he has a Tisas on his belt now. Told me after trying it out, he put his Colt in the safe and carries the $400 Colt clone now.
I have the RIA 1911A1. Love it. If I were in the market for another 1911, I'm sure it would be a Tisas. The RIA I bought 5 years ago costs almost $200 more today.

Bought a standard GI model last year and it still.preforms flawlessly. Good trigger, accurate, well made. Best $400 I've ever spent on any new gun.

The attitude is pretty indicative of those who've never served in the military. I worked with a man who owned a vintage jeep, had a milsurp collection of over 200+ and was fascinated by all things military, but never served a day. Once you have, the bloom is off the rose, so to speak.

I have a couple Tisas 1911A1 copies. I echo everything said to this point and agree with kb1903 above - "What's not to love?"

Overall, the fit and finish on them isn't bad.
A FYI though, there is currently a voluntary recall on some of their models for a hammer follow issue.
Tisas Safety Recall 2024-0001
If you go down to the bottom of the page, it shows how to determine if a pistol has either had the recall work done (marking under the mainspring housing), or if you serial number is higher than those listed, it wouldn't be effected.
If I was looking to buy one of the effected models, I would try to buy one outside of the recall range.

I had an ATI a few years back and every once in a while I'd get a failure to feed with hollow points, but it faithfully placed the spent casings down the back of my shirt until, fairly quickly, I learned to wear my ball cap like a catcher. My grandson & I were out at the range today and I ran a box through my Tisas, the 1911A1US Army version. It feeds just fine and hits close to where I want, only my stupid hands wouldn't let me get smaller than 4-5" groups. This was 15 yards out, so it needs some more love. Very nice gun for the money. I think I read somewhere that Tisas did something with the feed ramp different than the Colts, but I'd never know the difference. The great thing was when I bought it, I thought it was new. The guy at the shop knew the person who bought it new and supposedly the dude got into some trouble or something and sold it back to the shop after less than a box of 50, so I got an even better deal. I believe, out the door at $380 seems to be stuck in my head. (But, then, this is MY head I'm speaking of!) I may take it out again tomorrow. Gosh I love being retired!!

Pete/OP,
My experience has been overwhelmingly positive. It is a long-proven design and it is being executed well by the mfg.
Brief context, I have been fortunate to own—let’s say a lot—of 1911’s. No concerns from me on these, relative to fit, form, and function. Good value.
Hope this helps; PM if you need more specific feedback.
