Just curious to see if this Vietnam era retro rifle is good, bad, or mediocre as M16 A2 clones go? It appears to sell for less than 1/2 of a vintage Colt Sporter similarly equipped.

My son has expressed an interest but no real "reviews" by honest users seem available. Most are featuring the latest M4 fully adjustable type rifles of which he has no interest.

He saw a used one for around $800 but had no idea if good or bad and wondered. I told him I would ask on this Forum, because if anyone had some info it may be some of you folks and the answers might just be here.

Thanks in advance for any comments or replies on this retro rifle:D

My only experience with STAG is a fully Left Hnded M4 clone my second son has. Aside from the proprietary "Left" parts it is very well made and has held up for 13-14 years of use.

Stag had a very good rep sometime back. No idea what quality might be now/when made. After having reps for "quality" ARs quietly leave after being told our CQB training schedule, I got very doubting of any brand I didn't personally observe in use.
