I went to the Darker Side of the Dark Side
Have been looking for certain Smiths in nickel.
Ended up with a 3" blued Colt Detective Special from 1969:

I’d probably swap a few of my 3’ Smiths for that DS. I have one and it’s a great shooter

Great! I wouldn't trade my S&W 3" RB model 10-8 even for any Colt with the original lock work or new style either come to think about it.

They're not so bad, once you get used to the cylinder turning the wrong direction!

I thought the real problem was wrong way cylinder latch.
Adding wrong way cylinder to wrong way latch may be too much for my small brain to handle. As the the smallness of my brain just ask my wife!

Try counting your shots when you switch between 5, 6, 7 and 8 shot .357's. I invariably eject live cartridges or make the gun go "click"!

I used my issued Colt DS, serial # 689642, in a ‘74 gunfight w/three armed robbery suspects and have been trying to find it ever since. If anyone has it in their collection pls send me a message. I suspect it was traded on newer S&W revolvers after the court cases resolved but I’m not sure.

I think both of those issues can be fixed with a dremel tool and a bottle of cold blue
