CZ 550 varmint and Bell and Carlson stock
As the last of this springs projects, ordered a Bell and Carlson stock made specifically for this rifle with heavy barrel and detachable mags. The rifle has been sitting quite some time as was having difficulty making it fit with limited scope mounting options putting scope too high and forward. However the rifle has excellent accuracy potential, despite it's 1::12 twist.
Bell and Carlson is making their standard stock for this rifle with a 12.5 in lop. It is fully free floated with an aluminum stock insert. Anyone still have a CZ-550 308 varmint with a Bell and Carlson stock? Yea, should have asked before ordering but they have decent on line reviews.
Any comments certainly welcome, thanks

In the late 80's, I had a CZ with detachable mag, in 22 Hornet. It had a molded black plastic stock that fit poorly. I think they were shipped as barrel actions and had the stock applied by the distributer. The factory target was 5 shots/50 meters/1.5 inches. I never saw a group that small, and blame it on the stock!

If your CZ is a 223, I have found my Browning X Bolt with a 1/12 twist is extremely accurate with 40 grain Hornady bullets, much more so than with the heavier 55 and 62 bullets. Of course, I have to make them myself.

The rifle is a CZ 550 varmint in 308, and came with a HS precision stock with aluminum insert. The barrel is heavy contour and 25.6 inches. The combination of action, limited scope adj, cheek weld and LOP made it uncomfortable to shoot. Didn't really want to start chopping on the HS stock, but rifle is capable of .5 moa, after the crown was recut.
