Default Addition to my 44 Spl Family

I just traded my Ruger Precision Rimfire 22 mag for this lightly used Ruger New Model Bisley in 44 spl, a Lipseys exclusive. In addition to factory grips, it came with some Hogue white micarta grips.

My current tribe of 44 Spl include:

3” 24-3
696 nd
696 nd
396
Ruger Bisley 4 5/8”

I have one of those Ruger Bisley 44 Specials too. It's more accurate than I anticipated and very easy to shoot. It fits my hand well. In some ways I like it better than my Model 24's. I know, I know.... I wrote that on an S&W forum.

I did learn that the Bisley likes to come apart. Not horribly so, but the screw holding the ejector rod housing gets loose. When that happens the ejector rod launches downrange. Finding the spring, rod and housing is easy enough, but that darn screw is a pain. It didn't take me long to attack it with Loctite. Problem solved.

Let us know how you like your new gun. My guess is you will love it.

That was an all star trade trade right there.

I heard the Obi Wan Kenobi voice:

"This is the Ruger Precision rifle you are looking for."

I love to hate threads about .44 special. Can't we just keep this thing on the quiet? Shhh.
