My buddies Gun is bigger than yours
Came up to a long time friends house “ to get away” from where my late wife and I live. He has a fully restored half track with several mg mounts, 1919, BAR and M-2 50 cal. Last year he bought this live 57 mm anti tank gun. Reloads rounds for it and we would have fired it today if not for the monsoon. 9F123E8B-942D-4DA4-8FD1-0099A9DCF66E.jpg

My local auction house (two hours away-but the closest) has a tank on the grounds. I think he said it was Swiss. I've asked the wife a couple times lately if I could buy one. "We'd be the only ones in the neighborhood with one" I coaxed unsuccessfully. All I got was this... ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://smith-wessonforum.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif) without the smile.

That's so cool! Ya know, when you guys fire it off, you have to share; at least before & after pics! Reminds me of my Best Man at my present marriage. Joe, RIP, did two tours in Viet Nam but things were winding down and whatever he did it wasn't fun. But, he came home with some green things like mini pineapples and a couple fully auto sporting rifles. I miss the dude a lot. That was a while back, he's passed away, and who knows what river his wife was on when the accident happened. Nobody hurt, TG!

This is a live 3” anti tank gun we found in a cemetery back home. We thought it had been demilled but when I ground the chicken do do welds off the breech and opened it it was live. We rebuilt the trails, new tires and painted to use it in one of our MTAs ( Military through the ages) at Jamestown. Loaded 30 cut down USN steel 3” shells as the original 3” shells were about non existent. This is 1 pound of black cannon powder. Was at least 2-3 times louder than the CW cannons that were fired. Lots of fun.

I'm still learning about this new shotgun I bought! I'd love to fire off one of those canons!

May move here. Another long time acquaintance that lived few streets over passed and his son is selling his dads house. Have to deal with cold weather but my son plans to move close by and best friend lives about 30 minutes away. Headed to his house Tuesday as my son, best friend and myself are doing the Raleigh militaria show June 1.

Enjoy you time there. If moving is an option then weigh the options carefully and do what you think best.

The owner of National Gun Store in Miami years ago had something similar as part of the landscaping in front of his house.
This was right in town, but nobody seemed to mind.
Ah, the good old days…

Trey's tank is Swiss. I'm not sure of the bore on the main gun. My wife tolerates my collection pretty well, but things would get a little tense if I brought that thing home. Maybe I could sneak in one of those towed jobs.

I've been looking for a 75 mm Mountain Howitzer to tow behind my 1943 Willeys Jeep. Hummm, maybe that big toy might be a fair to middl'n replacement until I can find one.

His stamp is a DD. Did not ask the cost. He was never married so has plenty of $$$. Went with him and his girl friend for lunch and she is an firearms instructor. We talked about all the “ crazy things” we have seen people do at ranges. Now that is scary.

Would suggest a WC-51 weapon carrier as a MB/ GPW is a little “ light” to pull a pack. 4A2223D2-DC5C-406C-9669-6D55FA9CF60E.jpg
Know some guys that have this one. They take it to various military events and let people shoot a blank for $75.
