Anybody try out the new ruger lc carbine in 45 yet? Ive seen one in store and like an idiot, I didn't buy it. I'm still looking for one, but just wanted to see what people thought of them. Any opinions guys?

I bought a new Marlin Camp 45 when they first came out. I saw it in the store and didn't leave without it. In the 30 or so years since then I have seen exactly ONE more for sale. Yes, it takes 1911 mags and came with 1 really good quality stainless steel Marlin mag. No. I don't want to sell it!

Shortly after they came out, someone offered mag wells for Sig 220 mags, sure am mad at myself for not ordering one!

7 or 8 round shot capacity never seemed to be a problem. I have a 40mm Tasco zero magnification red dot on it, zeroed at 50 yards. It feeds RN Ball, cast RN jacketed HPs and cast SWCs without a single problem ever. The red dot has a 2 MOA dot and at 50 yds I get 2" (I don't think a smaller dot would make a difference).

No interest in a pistol carbine for defense not when short AR in 5.56 or 223 are so easy to buy or assemble and be dependable . But a 9mm carbine is a fun guns for us.

Maybe a high point carbine in 45 !!

I bought an LC 45 and LOVE IT! My only complaint is that it forced me to finally pull my progressive press out of mothballs to feed the darned thing. It is more accurate than I expected. Not sub-MOA but 2” at 50 yards is good enough for what it is. The trigger on mine is not great but others have better experiences with theirs.

The really cool thing is that it’s a PCC in a quasi-bullpup format. With the stock folded it’s only 22” long. Uses Glock 21 magazines, and they go in the pistol grip. I do wish Glock made them bigger than 13.

It has a 2-part bolt. The forward half actually goes around the barrel forward of the breach. That’s how Ruger got the length so short. Plain blowback action for .45 ACP +P needs a heavy bolt. This chunky monkey weighs over 2 pounds - I mean just the bolt. To use a LabRadar, I had to go to the alternate trigger (not sound). I think the noise of the bolt slamming back into battery was confusing things.

Yes it is rated for .45 ACP +P out of a 16” barrel. And the barrel is threaded.

I put a Primary Arms 1x prism sight on it. Perfect for banging steel out to 100 yards.

I did find one at one of my lgs and picked it up. It does suck that glock only makes 13 rounders, but kriss offers magazine extension kits to turn the 13 rounders into 30. I brought it tothe range on sunday and it was fantastic. No feeding problems, though I only used full metal jackets. No regrets, and i look forward to getting a suppressor for it.

Having a Marlin Camp 45, I have shot varmints and small game with it. Over the years I had five of the Camp 9mm guns (designed to use S&W double stack mags). I found 9mm too weak to be a dependable pest gun. I went with the M1 30 Carbine for semi auto and Rossi 92's in 357 for lever guns with a companion revolver. SAA or a Frame 28.

Very pleased with Ruger LC Charger 5.7. Not sure if they are doing the 45ACP in both Carbine and Charger but a 45ACP Charger would be sweet.
