Browning BDA-380 Help
I am in need of suggestions on where to go on this, I have owned this BDA-380 for over thirty years, last week the wife wanted to take it to the range with us. This is one of her favorites. When we returned home and I started the cleaning of everything I noticed that we had lost one of the "B" medallion emblems from one of the grips. I have called Browning and Midway for a replacement only to find out the "B" was discontinued about 10 years ago and can only get the "buck head" now. For less than $5 I can get two of the "buck heads" but I would rather have the "B" just due to the age of the pistol. Any suggestions as to where to go from here? Thanks for any suggestions or information.

Maybe try Ebay? Perhaps if you find a set of worn out BHP grips with the logo, you can pry it off of those?

I dunno about the medallions, but I'd sure like to find a set of "B" grips. I have a nickel BDA .380 that belonged to my grandfather that has Pachmayers on it, I'd sure like to find a set of factory grips for it.

I've ordered a couple sets from Browning (buck). The last was a couple years ago. I got a few "buck" medallions from them a while back. I no longer have any spares. It's a problem with this gun. Try calling browning or Numrich.

Thanks JcMack, but I need a set of the grips that has the B medallion, not the Browning buck medallion. The BDA I have is probably a '70's/'80's vintage gun.

I understand, but you might want to fill that hole in the grip in the mean time. About six months ago I found myself in the situation of owning both a Beretta 84, and the BDA. I needed some "trading fodder" so I traded away the Beretta. I don't like the slide mounted safety on the BDA but I do like the hammer decock feature. The older guns of both types are nicer than the ones with all the proof marks on them.

Just in case you haven't:
Have you checked with the folks at the range?

I have checked about everywhere I can think of. Everyone has the Buck head medallion available but not the "B". Finding used grips are about as rare, I can't see spending $80 for replacement grips that aren't what I want. It will be one of those hunts that will pop up some day when I'm least expecting it. My BDA has a 1978 manufacture date.

Most gunshows have guys that sell nothing but grips. They also have junk boxes slam full of odd grip halves.
This is an excellent excuse to haunt gunshows for the next few months.
