Hell yeah. I'm a few hundred rounds in with the .45 version and i love it. I wonder when they'll start to appear in the wild.

Hopefully it's more reliable than my 9mm PCC. I have never seen so many stovepipes in my life.

As far as I’m concerned the Ruger LC-45 has one big downside - it’s an insatiable little beast! OK I’ll admit that the trigger is pretty squishy and subpar, but ever since it came out I keep reading “if only it were in 10mm…”. Well here it is.

Supersonic 10mm clearly is the better cartridge. However, shooting the LC-45 suppressed is highly entertaining (see insatiable comment above).

I have never had one with mine. I am shooting cast handloads with speeds from 900-1200 fps and mixed brass. I use 10, 10 rd glock mags interchangeably and a 60 rd drum. What ammo are you getting stovepipes with?

This is a very well thought out design IMHO. I think it was specifically made as a subsonic suppressor host.

Folded, it measures just over 22” with a 16” barrel. Unlike the KelTec PCC, it folds at the back of the receiver and you can attach virtually any folding stock designed for an AR-15. The magazine goes into the pistol grip instead of a magwell forward of the grip. I call it a “quasi bullpup” because the chamber is farther back than any normal rifle but not as far back as a true bullpup.

The key to the design is a 2-piece bolt. The forward half actually wraps around the barrel ahead of the breach. That is how Ruger made a .45 ACP blowback action so short.

Field stripping involves removal of 1 pin. Take off the stock (1 bolt) and there’s a hole in the back of the receiver allowing you to clean the barrel from the breach.

My one complaint is the ****** trigger. Hopefully Ruger will offer an enhancement like their BX trigger for the 10/22, but that’s going to take a while.

(No - I do not work for Ruger. I just really like this rifle.)

I recently became aware of the TNW survival carbine in 10mm. Now I have a real problem. I hear the trigger on the TNW is also subpar. Must be congenital

Glock makes a 15-round magazine. Kriss makes an extension that would give you 33 rounds. I have their 30-round extension for .45 ACP. It works so far, but I can’t say “it’s reliable” yet and the instructions explicitly say “Don’t drop it!”

What type of bolt face does the LC-45 have? The bolt face on the AR style CMMG Banshees don't give full-support & cases bulge in their 10Auto model.

Wonder if the LC-10 will be able to handle full power loads without bulging the cases?

Thanks! You got me to look at the action again and I learned some more.

The bolt face isn’t the issue with bulged cases. A barrel with too big a cutout for feeding might though. It’s often called an “unsupported chamber.” Some Glock calibers were notorious for tossing out cases with a “smile” shaped crease near the case head. If there were enough chamber pressure to bulge the case head - the only part that contacts the bolt face - you’d have much bigger and more exciting problems.

What I found that fascinates me is the LC 45 has a fixed ejector like a Mauser, 1903 Springfield, or almost any semiauto pistol. Not a plunger style ejector like an AR-15, Remington 700, etc.

Are you saying that the Ruger LC-45 does not have a bolt face like an AR's?

Rifle bolt faces surround the cartridge rim & part of the head of the case because the case is not fully enclosed in the barrel's chamber unlike typical pistol chambers/barrels do.

Rifle brass is very thick at the head & can stand withstand the exposed pressure.

Most pistol brass is relatively thin at the head by comparison & when not fully enclosed, like in an AR action, the brass will bulge at higher pressures. This is why the Banshee 10Auto bulges brass.

This is not the same as fully-supported -vs- unsupported pistol barrels.

I just saw a cleaning video for a Ruger LC & the bolt is nothing like an AR's.

A friend has TNW's in .45ACP and 10MM. He likes them both. None of these including the Ruger are target guns, but will get the job done. Last I looked the TNW's were going for about $650.00.
