It all started with me firing my nephew’s 75B. That thing is so accurate, I had to have one. Out of the box the triggers are awful. The sights, not the best. So off to Cajun Gun Works. I can’t say enough good things about Cajun. I had them do a bushing, probably not necessary, trigger job with new hammer and sights. I put on the VZ grips. The SA trigger, 2.5 lbs, no movement. Not sure about the DA….7 pounds ish. Accuracy at 25 yards: sub 1.5 inches with me at the helm.

The Shadow 2 SA came from PSA. $999 + shipping and transfer. I had Cajun mill the slide for the red dot. That one also got a bushing fitted, although again, probably not necessary. But it was quite reasonable, and they had the slide. The trigger is factory. It breaks at at 2.75 pounds with a tiny bit of movement if you really milk it. I can occasionally get 1.25 inch groups at 25. What recoil?

The Shadow 2 Compact is the latest edition. The SA pull is about 3 pounds, tiny bit of creep. The DA is 8ish. Check out those sights. This gun is, and will remain box stock. It needs nothing. It’s accurate. I have more than once put 5 right around 1.5 inches at 25 yards.

None of them have ever malfunctioned. I have about $1100 in each of the. Considering the performance you get, I think they’re a good investment.

I bought a CZ 75BD earlier this year and it built extremely well, and everything is super tight. It is accurate as heck. I bought mine new for $629.99.

Some years ago, I bought a CZ European-style rifle in .416 Rigby. It was a gorgeous machine that rocked my world, but I loved it. I sold it right after I tore my rotator cuff. I can still shoot rifles, just not that rifle!

This CZ 75 Compact is pretty wonderful, too. The OP has good taste!

I drank the cool aid with a 75BD, great accuracy with a trigger I could live with. Then came the PCR every bit as accurate as the 75BD it had a good trigger buttt off it went to Cajun for the pro package. That made it a different gun with an outstanding trigger.
But the very first CZ was a american 527 in 204 Ruger. still the most accurate rifle I own.

I have a 75B. I'm trying to like it but it's not floating my boat. Single action trigger is hot garbage. Double action is ok but very long. A Cajun Gun Works Pro Package at $475 isn't going to happen. It's a quality piece, accurate and it will out last several generations to come. But I just don't get the love for them. Love their rifles, have two. Their pistols just don't do it for me.

Congrats! My first was a 75B in 1996 followed some years later by a 97B than a 75 Tactical Sport. Love them all.

CZ-75 B Single Action Trigger Pull

The reason the CZ75B single action trigger seems so bad is that you are actually camming the hammer back nearly 1/16" because of the sear angles and depth. Watch the hammer closely from the side as you dry fire the gun and you will see this happening!

Either you can have done/do a trigger job or you can buy the CZ-75 B Omega version. The single action on the CZ-75 Omega is wonderful!

Remember the CZ-75 was designed as a military pistol, not a target pistol. It has a military trigger pull. My Tanfoglio CZ75 clone, a TZ88, has a far better single action trigger than either my "Real" CZ75 or Canik 55 clone.

You haven't shot the right one yet.

All of my CZ pistols are from the CZ Custom shop. I bought most of them used, saving several hundred dollars.

My fav is my Accushadow. Incredible trigger, the DA pull has to be experienced to believe it.

These models have a barrel bushing, similar to a 1911. The test target that comes with the gun shows one ragged hole, no lie.

I agree the standard models' triggers leave a lot to be desired. The good news is, a simple spring swap improves them 1000%. Mainspring, trigger return spring are pretty darn cheap. Most gun smiths should have no issue swapping them out in less than 30 minutes, IMO.

I have read the CZ is now the 3rd largest seller of firearms in the US, more than Ruger. Only Smith & Colt are higher. That's saying something since CZ does not offer a revolver nor an AR in their line-up. They do offer the Bren in various configurations, long or short barrels, that sort of thing.

Another one of my favs they make is the Mini Scorpion. As the name implies, it's smaller than the original Scorpion. It's a PDW in 9mm & offers 35rd mags. Exceptionally accurate & totally reliable. Yes, I have that one too. :D

Right now, CZ is ruling the .22 rifle world as well. Can't begin to count how many models they offer. From mild to match grade, they offer them all.

Next time you see a CZ at the local range, talk to the owner. I bet he'll let you shoot his & then you too will be hooked.

My .o2

I have 75BD Police and a 97BD. Both modified by CGW. The 97 had a complete makeover including what they used to call the "E" conversion, the 1911 style bushing and an LPA sight. Two incredible pistols.

Mine's a 75B; typical tigger, but way fun to shoot. I've also got a 455 which I love, but sure am tempted by the 457's improvements. They do make good guns, if sometimes a bit unorthodox.

After trying a number of 9mm pistols the only one I cared for enough to keep is a Hi-Power until deciding to give CZ a look. Ran across a used SP-01 Competition model and the trigger pushed me over the edge to purchase. Great shooter that now wears a green dot sight and threaded CZ barrel for a suppressor.

That one led me to a CZ Custom Shop 75 D PCR for a carry option. Reliable and the decocker with a very smooth SA/DA trigger suits me well for carry.

In my opinion they are a great guns and a good value.

Let's not forget the CZ rifles! The CZ 453 American is the finest bolt action .22LR I have ever shot. With its single set trigger, fine walnut stock, incredible trigger and deep bluing like it used to be, the rifle is more than I had ever hoped for. After shooting mine 20 years ago, at least 9 of by Bud's went out and purchased one as well.

They have now discontinued that particular model and have come out with less expensive and cheaper models (without the single set trigger) to hold the prices down, but even though in my eyes they do not hold a candle to the 453 American, they are still pretty decent rifles.

As most know by now, CZ bought Colt a few years ago and has so far done nothing but great things with the Company!
